He's a tricky one to place - obvious all-round talent but only one previous GT finish (44th in Giro 2015).0 -

Did win a stage though.0 -
I think we'll see a Nibali, Valverde, Landa podium with Uran and Maijka bulking the top 5. In that order. Landa will loose too much time in Time Trials to come close to Nibali, who will most likely walk this by 5 or 6 minutes.0

Yep, he lost huge time on one stage for some reason early last time. But he can climb, he can TT and he is on form. And he's already had a 2 year ban, so he has all the attributes to win a Giro.0 -

My Giro bets:
Kruijswijk - GC 125/1 each way
Firsanov - Podium finish 125/1
Bongiorno - Top Ten 25/1
GC head to heads
Peraud to beat Dumoulin 5/4
Pozzovivo to beat Majka 15/8
Fuglsang to beat Zakarin 13/8
Uran to beat Valverde 7/4
Firsanov to beat Anton Evens
Demare to beat Vivani 2/1 (Points jersey)Twitter: @RichN950 -
Anton at Dimension Data is an odd mix isn't it?
Think Pozzovivo will have a good Giro, and Majka will flatter to deceive0 -

You can see why they keep going back Holland for these things.

Couldn't resist that Firsanov podium at 125/1.
Plus Zakarin for overall EW 14/1
And an acca on:
Ryder > Amador
Firsanov > Anton
Brambilla > Roche
Kruijswijk > Scarponi
Zakarin > Fuglsang
Taaramae > Kangert
Piti > Duran Duran0 -

There are 20 Russians in this race. By my count that makes them the second largest country representation after Italy. More Russians than Dutch, French, or Spanish riders. Katusha and Gazprom all Russian riders apart from Taarame plus 3 at Tinkoff. Be interesting how that plays out...0 -
Firsanov at 150/1 on Paddy Power.
Stuck an e/w on - I'll blame you lot if I lose money0 -

It wasn't a roaring success for Katusha in the 2011(?) TdF when they went all-Russian, IIRC.0 -

Funny one with Russia. They are only the 13th ranked nation. They are only there in number because two teams and totally Russian (bar one rider). Seems like they are picked for their nationality rather than ability. I've heard it said that Katusha is (or was) a soft route for home grown riders.0 -

I don't see it discussed.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
So apparently there will be no OGE backstage pass as the organisers have told Dan Jones that he can't film or use any "vision" from the race.0

Why not a Friday night start?
