Caad10 Disc Frame and Fork - Evans

I'm building mine up with Campagnolo Athena, Pro-Lite Revo's, TRP Spyre SLC's, Easton/3T finishing kit. My only quandary is chainset/bb. I have an FSA K-Force Light chainset I want to use and I'm unsure about bb. Its a 24mm axle so I either go Rotor 30/24mm bottom bracket, or for the cheap option of BB30 from Planet X and FSA 24mm adaptors. Are BB30 bottom brackets universal?0

Probably but there is also a plastic cable guide that fits on the underside of the BB Shell and this also prevents the Praxis going in. Apparently the Rotor version fits but its all still very snug,0

I've got roughly £1200 to throw at building the frame into the full bike. What would folk suggest for the group and wheels, bear in mind its for club runs and sportives, not racing. Thinking Force or Ultegra hydros with some handbuilts at around £350/£400. Not sure what to do with the cranks if go ultegra, seems a waste to shim it down to use a standard crank?
I think it's a shame to shim down on the BB... I've gone for 2016 BB30 Sram Red cranks, with Praxis Works rings...The all Matt Black finish looks bang on in keeping with the frame....
The Sram rings in the picture actually look partly gloss finish in the flesh, hence the all matt Praxis ones...

I think this bike is going to be awesome. Done a "loose" build and the fit seems good not as aggressive as I thought which is also good. So light! Hope to have it finished at the weekend....0

Stick some pics up when you are done!
I have collected my frame, just making final choice on the crankset now, will be Ultegra I think with a suitable adapter, but I may yet go for a Sram Red. Need to decide soon so I can get it done.
Well impressed with the frame in the flesh.0 -
I'm waiting on a Rotor BB which is the last remaining piece for my build. I was hoping to build it and go for a ride today, but the delay in the delivery of the BB looks like its foiled that plan.0

Looking at how to bleed the rear brake. When I did this before I had to take the caliper off the frame to allow gravity to push the fluid through. You cant do this on this frame due to the internal cable routing design.0

I bought bleed kit here ; http://www.epicbleedsolutions.com/produ ... plete-kit/ as it was much cheaper than the pukka Avid one.

Saying all that, I can't remeber whether you have Sram or Shimano  But I think that EBS also do a Shimano bleed kit..0 -
As a slight aside, whats the verdict on the other offering, the Synapse Hi-Mod Disc 2015 for a grand?
Reduced from 2500...Advocate of disc brakes.0 -

What size are you after ? Westbrook Cycles have the same frame for £799, but only in a 56.0 -
Probably a 54, subject to having a proper look.Advocate of disc brakes.0

Bit loathed too after the last time I shared pictures of my bike! :evil:0 -
Heres mine after the maiden voyage! Amazing bike just like the reviews say its stiff, fast but not harsh at all. I found the set up very comfortable too - please no comments about the headset spacers!
Built to a tightish budget I think it came in about £1200 but its a great bike. I know its the new bike thing but I think this is the best bike I have owned and dare I say it the most comfortable!

Contis? I had trouble fitting Gp4000 and Fourseasons.0

Yup, GP4000S, They went straight on but they have a good few miles in them from my previous bike, I wonder if that was the difference.0

What type of use do you guys plan for the caad 10 - build project only? Anyone planning to race on them?0
-
Discs are still banned for racing, I think. (Certainly the case in France).0
-
Not for racing that's for sure! Just like to build my own these days and I use it for fitness and as a stress reducer!0

I am hoping BC relax the rules on discs for racing in the UK as the CAAD10 would make a great crit bike but its a good allrounder too, its much more comfortable than the bike it replaced though not quite as stiff.0 -
Why I didn't buy one of these I don't know ! Anyone got a 56cm for sale : )0

Both look good! Solboy, did you get 685 brakes with post mounts? If so where did you pick em up and at what price?0
