Excited about this. I know, I know - first big clash for some of these guys, too early in season to be meaningful, blah blah blah....
But come on: 1st proper showing for Bertie and Kwiatkowski. If G is serious about his GC creds, where's he at? Is J-Rod up for anything? Aru? Gesink? Peanut?... Movistar might come with a roster of 2nd tier riders (i.e. No Valverde or Quintana) but they'll still be bloody strong and trying to get a result while they can. And where's Dowsett at? There's an 18km TT where we'll find out... Against Big Tone and Cancellara.
Nice.
Oh - and there's Kittel Vs Greipel.
I should have delayed my trip to Albufeira for 2 weeks
I did go up Monchique which is on Friday's stage. It is quite a climb. They will start climbing in earnest with 60km still to go. It really kicks up when you get to Monchique towards the last bit to Alto da Fóia.
There is an off road route up to the top - street cred to some guys I met who did it, sounds brutal.
I got a latte and a huge slice of Almond cake for eu 2.50 at the Cafe at the top.
Apparently Kwiato is sick... (as are most of the new Sky signings)...
Oh here we go- someone else implying that the Team Sky riders are made to walk about in pairs holding hands wearing hi-viz and do kissing games during training camps... Will this Sky-bashing ever end?

Statement of fact. No insinuation... Landa, Kwiato and Intxausti all sick this week and pulled out of their scheduled races...

Landa's not sick.
He was sent on a 6km time trial practice route on 14th January and he's not finished yet.
Adam Hansen
Sep Vanmarcke
Joaquin “Purito” Rodriguez
Alexander Kristoff
Michal Kwiatkowski (on probation due to the Sky move)
Toms Skujinš
Esteban Chaves
Svein Tuft
Andriy Grivko
Hmm. Hansen likely to withstand anything and everything including US military friendly fire.

Otherwise, I'm putting the rest on Medical Watch.
Team Dish doing just fine thanks. Kristoff seems alright and I take it y'all missed that manificent win that my man Grivko took at La Méditerranéenne...
Kwiato very much on probation - not least for his shocking kit...

And PS. Skujinš earning his keep by tweeting out health advice:
Seems like more and more people have gotten sick over this winter. Stay healthy friends. Dress warm, drink tea, add garlic to dishes, sleep.
