55-39 million years ago according to my (internet) sources
Some evidence for this in tropical rainforest & marsupial remains found within limestones in N Queensland - prob corresponding to part of the "white" area of the map.
I'll be honest I ve no idea about that area, didn't come up much in CardiffOrganiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -
What's the joke with all the horses?0 -
What's the joke with all the horses?
Passed me by too but I think on one Tour stage spoiler thread a prolific poster (of pictures) had a flounce and said something like " I won't show you a nice picture of a horse then" and it kicked off from there.0 -
What's the joke with all the horses?
You'll eventually find the thread if you search for ". ... a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" in 2013 Tour spoilers. It was used as a signature quote so there are many hits. All sorts of shenanigans including mass changes of avi pics and projections on Arc de Triomphe on the final stage ensued. It was a lovely horse and the greatest moment in forum history....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
it was around that time that it became traditional as well to post geology, wine, cheese and horse/cow info about whichever region the tour visited on that particular stage.. hence all the maps and that above0
-
The post
Obliged. Think it became a running gag through the Tour all the way to the Champs.

The thread doesn't exist until we have a photo of a cyclist with a cuddly marsupial

I'm one of the few remaining that hasn't changed their avatar back from the day when we all switched to horse avatars because of it.
Nice to see a reappearance from Macca.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
There we go - if I had just toed the line and posted with horses, cheese, and geology then we would have missed out on the last few pages of glorious nonsense0
-
To be fair to FF, but not to be sexist, some of the girl forumites would frequently comment on the appearance of horse on the tellybox, which, like the geology, led to people looking for more information on Gallic equine variation.
Cows too are much commented upon...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Controversial opinion alert.
Moral of the story is that spoiler threads are going to be a whole lot more dull without frenchfighter0 -

We won't properly miss him until we get either a Contador win or a Sky train demolition of the field.0

While not wishing to speak ill of the "dead", I've been enjoying the slightly more relaxed atmosphere and decrease in bickering. Just my tuppence worth.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0

As I miss the bickering and insults, you can shove your "tuppence", Doc. In fact, you can add mine and have fuppence.0

Don't worry. When it's clear that Sky have neutralised both Kwiatkowski and Landa, he'll be back....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

Aussie Geology is nothing if not complex....
So what are the white bits... just nothingness?
Reminds me of a story I read the other day.
An English Secretary of State was posted to NI at the height of the troubles.
As part of the intial briefing he is shown a map of NI with Protestant areas shaded orange and Catholic areas shaded green.
Eager to learn he asks who lives in the blue area.

Have your tuppence back, you pointless knobmoomin.*
*Just providing a bickering and insult service for you.
And yes, I know the tuppence is warm. I can assure you it wasn't earlier. I sincerely hope you're not in the medical profession, they should teach you about things like that.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
FF's still kicking around on Twitter0

Overall he was more of a positive. You just needed to filter the nonsense. Someone always took the bait though.....0

Aussie cheese.
I've ridden most of these roads. I'll put up some thoughts on Tuesday... That's because I'll have had 24hrs peace and quiet to write it during a Business Class flight to Adelaide0 -

Is knobmoomin Danish for "gentle soul of considerable intellect"? Either way, many thanks, you massive nerk.0 -
The knobmoomin is a relative of the cockwomble, twatclanger and arsefraggle.
It's my sworn mission to see knobmoomin enter the OED.
