Happy memories of the Summer, and what it means to be a cycling parent - my 8-year-old daughter and I riding our first 10 mile time trial together on the tandem. There were a bunch of spectators at the turn; when they saw my daughter they gave her a big cheer; she looked round, and one of them took this shot:

An off camber incident involving black ice lead to this photo opportunity. Me and the guy on the ground both came to grief. I got up unhurt, he did not; a fractured pelvis and two broken vertebrae. Ambulance was called, but we were quite a way from the nearest town, so it took a while. In the meantime, matey boy is getting hypothermia, another club stopped and we all donated our tops as blankets, so we were now getting chilly and I thought I would take a picture, just for the club 'round up of the year'. However, what I had not bargained on was our club chairman capturing the worry and concern for our fellow club member in a single expression...

Me too. Was hoping to get to the Algarve in late Feb but it's looking a bit dodgy at the moment. I was planning to spy on a short bloke who owns lots of cats whilst I was there.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

A crud at Degla today, no pics as I forgot the Gopro and nobody crashed into a tree.
However as people seem to be on summer pics I shall post this and then below remind everyone what winter is. Tomorrow I am back on the road bike and I shall create something special for you all

At a recent cafe stop in Bakewell we found that there were no seats available inside, but the courtyard had space. It was chilly, but not freezing so we went for that option.
After the waitress brought us our order she kindly asked if we would like anything else, to which my mate jokingly replied "yeah, a blanket wouldn't go amiss!"
"No problem," she replied and duly returned with a blanket. Once he had tucked it around his legs I commented that he looked like he was in a wheelchair and duly took out a front wheel and placed it alongside for this photo opportunity;
