'Let's do this deal', Trump tells May on day two of state visit, US President Donald Trump has said he believes Britain can have a "very, very substantial trade deal" with the US after it leaves the EU.
Mr Trump told Theresa May to "stick around" during a meeting with business leaders on day two of his state visit.
Why are the BBc even reporting this ridiculous quote as if it's news/possible/true?

Nope - none of that - just the content and context relating to the invasion of Europe - although he did suggest that it was Brits and Americans who invaded rather than Brits, Americans and others - (Commonwealth?) Also the respect and regard he held HM The Queen in.

He said the Queen inspired WWII victory. She wasn't coronated until 1952.

But yeh great speech. The best. Very respectful. Believe me.

Shows how low the standards are. Lagrange gets impressed at a speech that probably every single one of us here could have done better. Any time Trump does more than dribble it impresses people.

You realise that all he was doing was reading some words that someone else wrote for him don't you? So were you impressed that hew is actually capable of reading (I have to admit, I was surprised) or that he managed to avoid going off piste and adding his own opinions for a change?

I'd rather take one bus. Especially some of the ones he axed.

Plus why can't you hop from a tube to a bus. And why does a short bus journey now cost the same as a zone 2-6 tube journey.

These changes are because "the way people travel in the capital is changing". No further thought why that might be e.g. endless road works from the unfinished cross rail, increased bus costs etc.

Look at it the other way around. £1.50 to travel Zone 2 to Zone 6.

My bus ticket in Sweden was also valid on the train from Stockholm to Uppsala.

Changed his mind on the NHS within hours of the press conference with May. I imagine his people are just relieved that it has gone fairly smoothly. I suspect we may have to wait for the next president before any serious negotiations are started.

Who on earth can see the system in the US, where coverage i terrible and public health has levelled out life expectancy yet they pay almost double what the rest of Europe does and this "this is what's best for the nation"

    Ludicrous.

I can only hope that results in a bit less scare mongering and pant wetting on here. But I'm probably being too hopeful :)

The freeze on tube fares has squeezed the balloon and it's popped out on bus fares.

Probably, although I was commenting more on the apparent lack of a plan either way. People seem to be looking for specifics in what was obviously just a load of vague platitudes and unwarranted superlatives.

Well, as no meaningful negotiations can begin until after we have left the EU then that is undoubtedly the case. Although someone may want to tell DT that.
