If you had one crazy to deal with trump I reckon Pence should be the Crazy's target like someone said earlier. You basically want Trump out but not with Pence next in line. More important to keep him out even if that means Trump stays in post.
Speaker was in place before Trump was candidate so he was fairly normal republican not crazy republican. I don't think he's too right wing at all.
P.S. I don't advocate assassination under any circumstances. This is just speculation only.0 -

Happy to be corrected!
Correct.
So how far do you have to go before you end up with a President who isn't a deranged crony of Trump?
Currently only Speaker, Paul Ryan is ok. But it depends who they elect in January. I do think that they will elect someone who is not aligned with Trump, it's easy to demonise the republican party but they do have some sense.
You'd have to get the timing just right given how long people last under Trump - presumably though Trump can't decide the Speaker?......Faster than a tent.......0 -

No, the House does. Ryan has been nominated and, it appears, will easily win re-election. That'll rankle Trump. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I'm expecting them to have to organise a children's party, and the members of the winning team get to be the cabinet.0 -

Not a great sign. He's really going to try and do what he campaigned on.0 -
It's what the people voted for though. While I don't agree with his views, at all, it's better than him duping the people into office.
Or is it?!0 -

A senior advisor to the transition said he wanted to "move beyond the issues of the campaign".

What I do find odd is how the more literate Trump supports can be so OK with his unwillingness to leave his businesses alone.
Ultimately it means that doing business with his businesses is a good way to buy influence, which is exactly what his supports (and Bally) accused the Clintons of with their Clinton foundation.0 -

It's because the more literate Tump supporters are either in his team or familyAll lies and jest..still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest....0 -

For the record, I am not a Trump supporter, he is probably as bad as everyone says he is. My point was, so is Hillary.
There is no law requiring the POTUS to relinquish their business interests.

There are laws pertaining to money laundering though.

What's that got to do with the price of fish? Electoral college votes are the ones that count.
Just like UKIP, they managed to get more votes than SNP and Libdems combined but only one seat. Doesn't matter.

Yeah, to be honest I never knew just how long it took one of the world's most advanced countries to count their votes.
Speaking of advanced, Trump now wants NASA to abandon monitoring the Earth's climate, and has put a climate change denier in charge of the Environment Protection Agency. I hope there's a big reaction from America's scientific community, there really does need to be a showdown on this issue.0 -

Maybe we should be more optimistic. The pendulum has definitely swung away from the liberal elite in the US. When they get sick fed up, disillusioned and most probably 'betrayed' by the 'other side,' in 5 years time we may see the pendulum swing violently back. It is then that change will be effected.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0
