Wiggle - anyone else getting problems lately?

Used Wiggle for many years and have generally been satisfied with the service. Sadly, my latest order was a bit of a dog's breakfast. It wasn't despatched with the usual efficiency so I contacted them and was told that the delay was because items "were being moved from the old to the new warehouse". After chasing again it was eventually despatched, by which time the price had dropped by £20. Wiggle refused to match price at despatch. Item's now going to have to go back and be re-ordered at the new price. Anyone else got similar recent expierence?

  • Nope. It's all been fine. But I am getting two parcels where I make an order of more than one item.

I suspect something weird has happened with your claim for a price match. They price match everyone else within 7 days including themselves. Have another word.

    Facebook? No. Just say no.
  • Yes - particularly with multi-item orders being split up (despite all being in stock ready for dispatch) - sometimes waiting 4+ days for some of them, even though I paid for next day delivery and ordered about 10am. It's happened at least twice in the past month or so.

All due to warehouse things, apparently. Didn't have any issue getting the postage refunded, but it was annoying.
  • Yeah they've always done the two parcel thing but I've never found that a problem. Good shout on the 7 day price match - will do a bit of research.

I ordered a rain jacket earlier this year and as the OP the price dropped by over £20 afterwards. I spoke to Wiggle online and they refused to give me a refund. It looked like my only course would be to return it and then order another, a total waste of time. Luckily it didn't come to that as I managed to find the same jacket at another shop at the lower price. Wiggle retrospectively price matched.

Only with DX, who they seem to be using more and more.
  • DX are the only problem that I've had lately I hope it's just a short term change
  • Interesting about DX, but I hadn't had similar. What's niggling me with the twenty quid is that I noticed the price had dropped on the day of despatch - not sure whether it dropped before or after I received the despatch notice. You'd think Wiggle would give you the lower price if the price drops on an active order though?

........ so I contacted them and was told that the delay was because items "were being moved from the old to the new warehouse"...... .

Yup. Got this same excuse about 4 weeks ago when I ordered a new cassette and RD amongst other bits. Inner tube was on back order so expected that to be delayed. However RD was missing from box. Had to prove that I hadn't received it and that the box wasn't tampered with by sending photos! Only way to complain was online. They replied by saying that the inner tube was on back order even after I explained the RD was missing. They finally understood and sent out missing part. They can be a bit Muppet-ish, but show me a company that doesn't have the odd Muppet working for them.

Seems that the warehouse move is SOP when it comes to excuses.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Ordered 9pm Tuesday, arrived 9am this (Thursda) morning - 36hrs, free delivery. I'm happy with that!

Have had 2 orders in the last month split like those above. Never happened on in-stock items up until this point.
  • Yep, that's what I've got from them in the past.
  • UPDATE...Just had a notification from PayPal that my scheduled payment has been reduced by twenty pound. Faith restored somewhat in Wiggle :D

Missed delivery with last order so rebooked via my mobile when in work and got email confirmation. Checked on day of redelivery and it said 13/10, not 12/10 as per email. Took to twitter to sort out and the parcel was rebooked for 13/10 to a different address in Bristol. I had a phone call from DX who told me that they couldn't redeliver on 12/10 even though I told the girl I had the day off which is why I chose that date, she did however get the delivery rebooked to my address for 13/10 before noon when I leave for work.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • UPDATE UPDATE. Item arrived today...but was the wrong one. This is getting silly. :?
  • My last order was a local pick up. Got message from courier to say delivered at 1pm but shop wouldn't release because didn't have message from wiggle with bar code - so could see my stuff on a shelf but not have it.
Message from Wiggle didn't arrive until next day. No-one you could ring and email wasn't answered until after I got the message the next day.
    Frustrating.

Ordered various items including protein bars. All arrived in good time BUT protein bar box opened and one removed. Took photo and reported it and sent photo. They asked me to send the WHOLE order back not just protein bars. I refused asking why I should be inconvenienced and received a credit for one protein bar. So, got there in the end but found their approach somewhat confused. Suspect whoever stole it at warehouse assumed wouldn't complain. This was about 3 weeks ago and since then have moved to Merlin. 3 orders, all fine and delivered next day.

Problems since DX took over the deliveries. On their first go the driver left the parcel next to our bin on the floor in plain sight. Luckely my missus came home and spotted it before it rained or someone nicked it.

Could end up being pretty expensive for Wiggle if the courier firm behaves like this.
  • Made 2 orders in the past week, one on Saturday night with a few items, despatched Sunday and arrived Monday. Another order made on Sunday, despatched Monday and arrived Tuesday. Both contained Haribo. Only issue was my Mojito flavour gels turned out to be Raspberry with caffeine. Haven't bothered complaining, I only bought Mojito because they were £2.50 cheaper than the other flavours, and I think I'd prefer Raspberry anyway!

DX did follow my instruction to chuck it over the side gate if I was out. I'd prefer them to use RM though, I find they are reliable.

I came home today to find a card from DX sitting on my doormat. The card has a boxed ticked saying… “Reason we could not leave it: no suitable location.” I live next door to a shop. My delivery instructions state: “If out, leave with shop.” I’ve used Wiggle for 10+ years without an issue. In fact, I’ve never had a failed delivery from Royal Mail or any courier firm before.

I’ve rebooked for tomorrow. If they get it wrong again I’ll shop elsewhere.

    DX

^^^ I used to receive next day delivery items perfectly. But recently I ordered items using the standard delivery and my local DX courier ( who I believe is a freelance contractor ) basically turns up when the f*** he feels like it. Wiggle say 2 to 4 days delivery... not this guy.
I'm guessing he is holding onto my parcels and only dropping them off when it suits him.

    +1

With a plenty of other online shops to choose from, if theres not much difference in the price I'll shop with who has the best delivery.
A couple of years ago, when Wiggle used a different courier ( City-Link ) they were absolute atrocious. Missed deliveries at a business address thats manned 24 hours with a reception centre ! This put me off using Wiggle for a while. I had no sympathy when City - Link went bust.

I get the same thing in France. I order a lot from wiggle and my wife complains that a new parcel arrives every week. I've never received any haribo.

I can't complain about the service though, free delivery to France, and delivery to the door - doesn't sound much but most French companies charge extra for home delivery (€5-8!). Maybe it's the size/remoteness of the country, but retailers try to encourage the use of collection points, whereas I can get a UK company to deliver to the house for less. Bizarre.

Informative email from DX - my order will be delivered on 23 Oct.

Informative emial from DX yesterday evening (23rd) - my order has been successfully delivered to my address.

Great! but no order was delivered, nor was any card left to say the order was left elsewhere.

This is my third poor experience with DX (two via Wickes and now this one via Wiggle)

I like Wiggle, but I've had enough of DX; so unless I have to, I'll order from places with more reliable delivery.

    Update to my post above:

I found my parcel today at 1pm in my back garden, pushed under the gate and well soaked from the rain.

Two questions I have sent to Wiggle:

Why was no card put through my letter box to say the parcel was in my back garden?

Why, when it is clearly marked on the box "NEXT-DOOR-NEIGHBOUR" did it not get left with my neighbours?

Yea they need to know if they are having trouble with the courier.

    Reply from Wiggle states:

"I am sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with this delivery. Please know that this is not the way we intend for our deliveries to be completed and I apologise that this has been the case on this occasion, this is not how we expect for our customers to be treated by one of the third party companies we work with so I have now logged this with our delivery account manager so that we can also raise this with DX but on a higher level. No problems at all. Two recent orders have both arrived within 48 hours under the free delivery terms. They are getting stingy with the Haribos though.
