That's what I thought when I was watching it. thats actually terrible isn't it. I rarely read velonews, its pretty average for commentary and reporting.

When he went into it he had a couple of bike lengths on GVA and EBH, when he came out of the corner he had about 30 metres on them.Just watching this again.

Hmm - I think my memory has exaggerated it a bit, and the camera work makes the gap look smaller and larger at points, but I still think the gap goes out a fair bit as he takes that corner0 -

In the latest instalment of "Why I lost this time - pt 372" GVA said he was trying to get EBH to come through and work as otherwise he would have dragged him back to Sagan only to be out sprinted on the line....which to be honest is fair enough.
So I think there was a least a certain amount of hesitation from GVA.We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence
