On Andorra.
Word is they are planning a similar stage to this Vuelta one.
Heard that at the start of stage 11....................."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

mais oui .... it's all speculation to some extent although hotels will already have nbeen booked for next year. Velowire usually does do a good job but their speculative map seems odd this year??0 -

I speculated similar in the pub around the time, what with ASO being outright owners of La Vuelta now. Though think the same route will be a non-goer given the speculation around hotel bookings etc?Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

I know - but the alpine stages are not present and it is rumoured to be going there first - from the contenin penisula to the champagne area
However I'm just waiting for October's announcement ! Taking a vested interest as plan to follow the first 15 stages next year. However if velowire is correct it just means drinking Saumur rather than champagne and they are both fine with me - although the clockwise route looks more interesting so far0 -
-8 days
anti - clockwise now seems the likeliest after all!0 -
with a finish on Mt Ventoux!0

I really hope there is a Bordeaux stage0

with a finish on Mt Ventoux!

I need info on getting my bike down to south of France now. I normally drive but wife is a teacher so can't come so I can't have the car.
I don't presently have a bike box. I need to fly or train to Avignon and then get a hire car.
Eurostar are saying no availability
Only flights I can find are to Nîmes or Marseille0 -
The Eurostar direct service from St Pancras to Avignon only runs in the school summer holidays I think. It's easy enough to do with SNCF, get the Eurostar to Lille, then change onto a TGV to Avignon.0

If your bike is bagged or boxed up (even a cardboard one from the LBS will do) then sncf are fine. You wont ecen need to prebook it. I did TGV, sncf and a bus from Brussels to Luchon this year with no problems"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Good idea. I think I might try and do something similar to the last time it went there. I did Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez, Annecy and then Paris. So I'll try and see the Ventoux and TT stage, then head to the Morzine/Megeve area.
Questions is, do I book something before the route comes out or wait until next week?0 -
