Having Seb Coe associated with any sport will help eradicate doping0

I'd like to kill the idea that watching cyclocross is in any way a substitute for watching road racing, even watered down methadone. It's tedious as hell as a televised spectator sport.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0

I think it's great to watch when you have a close race with 2 or 3 guys really battling. Like Koksijde this year. Most of this year has been pretty poor in the men's races because Van Aert has been so much better than everyone else. The women's races have been excellent since early December when Wyman, Harris, Cant and two or three others really hit form."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

The idea that publishing your test data is somehow helpful in the fight against doping
Figured it would have been mentioned before but decided to post it after seeing Froome's article on BBC Sport0 -

The world cup's have been excellent I thought, fair old variety of winners. Still it isn't a substitute for road racing though, the format of races are definitely closer to MTB XC surely?0 -

I tried. I did. But once I got past the novelty factor of mud and obstacles, of admiring the strength and technique, I was left empty, devoid of the tactical fix. If road racing is chess on two wheels, cyclocross is mousetrap in the mud.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

I like Qatar as a race.
But how?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

When the wind blows it's pure, unadulterated, no holds barred racing. Where only the strongest survive.
When it's calm, it's shit.0 -

I think it's similar to watching road racing, at first it's all a bit baffling, then, as you watch more of it, you begin to appreciate the tactical nuances, the differences between the best and the rest, etc.
That said, I think you appreciate it more when you've raced it yourself.0 -

I think you're right. Seeing how quick these guys and girls plough through sand or run up stairs when compared to us mortals. One slight mistake and you're screwed, any slight let off of effort and you lose three places. It's just intense!0 -

Cancellara by name, cancellerer by nature. He's had a word and anything more windy than " nicely gentle"? Race cancelled.
Temperature over 28 degrees? Race cancelled.
Someone asking Cancellara "what's that on the sole of your shoe?", followed by "ooh, hello sailor!" when he lifts his foot backwards to have a look? Race cancelled...0 -

Hoping and praying for a windy worlds, Fabu knows his way around an echelon as well as anyone in the bunch, that's what I want to see more than anything this season..0

If you think there is a possibility of the RR being dull, imagine the TTT... (And I am one of the only people on here who actually seems to like TTT's!)0

I've come round to the idea that it favours big budget teams too much and distorts GTs, but I love the TTT as a discipline and spectacle....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
Me too, especially since I suffered through one myself - it really is a fine art and spectacular when it is done properly0

1995 TDF St 3 near Alencon with Berzin's hair flowing and Jalabert's yellow Jersey.(helicopter above - cheating ???)
2002 TDF St 4 Chateau-Thierry and USP didn't win but Once did.
But talking about it reminds me of the spectacular cornering to the river front at St Nazaire and David Millar on his own, on the final hill of Bar le Duc.
Television has to improve from their Boring productions because whenever someone states it is boring then it is the TV to Blame.
The couch potatoes cannot grasp the complete story and to them it is boring.
I have lived with the general public for years telling me it is boring, so that Idea must Die with a kick up the arse for TV productions.Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -

Screw road bikes, they should make them do the TTT on Raleigh Choppers.
Cos it would make it more even. Or something.0 -

Heres on that must die.
the idea that races other than the early classics are anything other than filler. (Giro being a possible exception and close enough to PR to count)0
