He's had a lot of critics on thus forum, but the guy is money at times.
Rightly so. And one win from a gifted breakaway is just reasonable. His palmares is very thin. His calves aren't though.
No GT stage is a gift. That was a heavyweight win to use your vernacular.
If Astana wanted to catch them they would have. It's as simple as that.
But they wouldn't risk tiring the team out to catch a meaningless (for them) breakaway and then risk Dumoulin winning the sprint and putting more time into Aru. It's a pointless arguement.0 -
Maybe you don't realize it but your first sentance just corroborates my point that a breakaway wins because the peloton lets them (apart from rare cases).
A good win for Roche (he needed it) but give me a break on how amazing it was.Contador is the Greatest0 -
In fairness to the haters, Aru is FUGLY.
TD the new Jan Ullrich WOOOOOOOP0 -

So 95% of breakaway wins are meaningless?
mmmkay...It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -
I think what we're all overlooking the fact that I made a correct PTP stage pick for like, the first time ever.
and you were in fact the only person that picked him. That gives you the stage win!
Hooray! What do I win?
Closer inspection reveals that I appear to have made 2 other correct picks, on stages 3 (Sagan) and 17 (Dumoulin), although neither of those were especially difficult picks given the stages in question (and the fact that loads of other people got it too).0 -
