Enjoyed that. Rare you see so much attacking. You have to conclude that Ar's attacks were all bluster since not only Dumoulin was able to sat with him but the whole group. I don't think he once got a gap of note.0

Lots of people enjoying today's stage.
It was enjoyable primarily because Aru was attacking.
Yet you lot all hate on Aru.
Go figure.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Who's hating on Aru? People have just said he couldn't drop Dumoulin.
I do question Aru's repeated attempts though, when it was clear TD was too strong today, especially with another rolling day tomorrow and a mountain day on Saturday. It looked like he was spending a lot of energy he might want in the next few days, and looked a bit desperate. I like attacking riding, but I also like intelligent riding. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

Hating = not agreeing with FFNapoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

Riders, other forum members, whole countries some times! :roll:0 -
Watching this atm.
Aru has the right idea. Yoyo.
Tom needs to be a bit careful of that. It's fine on a climb like today, but in the next days that might not work.0 -

A lot of people over the course of the Vuelta and at other times. Trying to call him out as a doper. Trying to say they don't want him to win due to Astana and the associated innuendo. Trying to say he is ugly. Trying to say he has an awful style. etc.
You can't have both to be honest.
Fact is my man has lit up almost every race he has been in and has a better palmares then all bar one of the entire Sky team. He is only 25 and my man is destined for greatness and has an appreciation of the fans and the need to entertain. This Sardinian is carving his legend.Contador is the Greatest0 -
It's pretty rich for you to be accusing anyone of calling a rider out as a doper.
Go back and read what you've written about the 800kg Dutchman.
Staggering lack of self-awareness.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

Looking at tomorrow's profile, that finish could be more dangerous than Sat...
I thought that.
3 seconds. It's so close.Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -
I think what we're all overlooking the fact that I made a correct PTP stage pick for like, the first time ever.0

I said early on I thought it was turning into a great race. Aru has been good value, but also J-Rod, Majka, Chaves and of course Dumoulin. It was nice to see Nieve have a go today too. Quintana and Valverde are a very entertaining duo. I'm enjoying Valverde more and more. He deserves his N°1 status.
Any dislike of Aru is mainly aimed at Astana I think, which is pretty understandable. Similar reasons i have a trouble with Tinkoff, but no fault of the riders.0 -

I dunno, I like Froome even though he is ugly on the bike. You can definitely think someone's ugly and still like them as a rider.
I try not to worry about the doping stuff too much (during the race at least), it just ruins the race.0 -

Profile of the climb looks like something Tom D could drop the others on in his current form rather than the other way round. Can only hope that the little blip at the finish is a punisher.
The two climbs towards the end on stage 20 are definitely quite a bit steeper even if not the kind of >15% that is required for physics to take effect.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Chapeau Nico. Get in.
He's had a lot of critics on thus forum, but the guy is money at times.
Nieve interviewed said the climb wasn't that hard and quite difficult to get away on. Not that surprising that Doumoulin wasn't shelled by Aru's half hearted attacks. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0 -

YOU are the one day in day out babbles about Dumoulin's weight, performance being 'not-normal' (god, do I hate that categorization) and climing he's doping.
Also, do you want me to find (again, as I've quoted you for it before) your lovely post where you are having a go at Froome for being straight up ugly during the Tour?
Is Aru 25 already? Ts, what a lightweight. Dumoulin is 24 and already a much better rider. That's got to hurt.
See what you get out of your nonsene? You turn people around. I have nothing against Aru and he's a great rider but now I'm suddenly playing your game of disliking riders because I can't keep my cool.0 -

Rightly so. And one win from a gifted breakaway is just reasonable. His palmares is very thin. His calves aren't though.YOU are the one day in day out babbles about Dumoulin's weight, performance being 'not-normal' (god, do I hate that categorization) and climing he's doping.

First off calm down, life is not that tough for you guys in Denmark: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Happiness_Report)
I comment on the race and the riders but I am consistent.
I find Froome's style incredibly ugly and completely detracting from the viewing performance and that is not even to mention his tactics and method of riding. Deal with it.
Third sentance is pure stupidity. Just go take a look at his palmares as it speaks for itself.
I see nothing other than you losing your cool and talking nonsencse as per 85% of the time. That % had dropped to 50% a little while back so you came off block. You are now back on it and given I have less than a hundred posts to go I assume it will stay that way.Contador is the Greatest0 -
I assume it's both the usual Avila run in and finish.
In which case the 2nd cat is likely to generate much action, but with very little result.
The finish certainly has the potential to cost a few seconds here and there to those less vigilant,
or more fatigued.
I'm not sure if this qualifies for hating on Aru status, but Dumoulin is the more likely to benefit, imo.
That's not to say that Aru couldn't regain the red jersey, come the stage presentation."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

He'd make a good Europcar rider - one for the breaks and every so often he'll land one - I like that kind of rider maybe he could be the new Tommy Voeckler if he works on his facial expressions.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
