Tour of Britain Stage 5 Prudhoe to Hartside Fell **SPOILERS*
Prudhoe to Hartside Fell
And a proper mountain top finish - all can and I think will change today. It is only 450m climbing but that is more than enough for more GC sort of riders to put good time into sprinters

It is a much shorter day in the saddle today at just around 100 miles - hopefully good racing speed to the foot of the hill to burn up the doms and a good fight up the slope by team leaders and climbers (I can wish can't I?)

Why do they show Newcastle upon Tyne over Gateshead/County Durham on the map?0

Relocated by popular request0 -
My old man is from Gateshead and they are quite proud of which side of the Tyne is which and unlikely to request getting over written. I think the map they were using had NuT under the flags and off the side of the page so they decided that they could stick it over any part of the large city. Frankly the maps (seeing as they boast that they are OS) have been worse that the Vuelta's and that takes some doing0

That's a shame - although he got his win. I love it when a sprinter has so much extra gas he can salute the line whilst the opposition are still sprinting. There is a picture on twitter with Gaviria and a teammate in the background both arms raised in triumph which is very reminiscent of a famous picture of Cav winning in his HTC days. Hopefully there is a better copy somewhere

The teammate is Cav, so more similar than you maybe realise.0 -
Does wonders for your figure that Etixx suit (Gavi not Cav).Contador is the Greatest0

Kruijswijk is being very quiet - after his Tour and (excellent) Giro doubles he's probably not noticing these 'categorised hills'
He might stretch his legs and release some fury

Conor Dunne, Mark McNally, Michael Morkov, Pete Williams and Morgan Kneisky
have 4mins at 80km to the finish.
Sky (Fenn) leads the peloton.

Think that shot was of him speaking to the NFTO DS?
The crash involved an NFTO rider, a Movistar guy and Cav0 -
Anyone know the last climb percentage? Unscientifically it looks like 15km and 450m ascent i.e. 3%0

yes it was after that he was shot holding onto the commissionaire car0 -
more than 3, more like 6%
not difficult for your average weekend rider but for the racers it depends whether there is a group that gets away, or hopefully full-gas all the way and then selections at the end"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

Is this the Queen stage? Well hoping there are some proper time gaps then.
Looks like next three stages are just sprints. Like the first four stages.Contador is the Greatest0 -
