Interstellar, complete and utter headthrash, it gets really weird towards the end. Also Matt Mcwhatsisname mumbles all the time and you can't tell what he's saying! Quite a frustrating film I thought.0

Anyone interested in music should watch Straight Outta Compton. It's on eof the best fillums I ve seen for a while
Followed it with Terminator Genysis which is a lot less good. Some almost funny bits about Arnie being old now but otherwise the biggest thing in it's favour is Amelia Clarke who is just lovely
(I should add that all of those were watched illegally)We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

LOVED this film. Mathew Mkjahiasjkha, can really do no wrong in my eyes. Well, his early career was a bit off key except for Dazed and Confused… But Mud, True Detectives, DBC etc. Terrific acting. Although yes, haha, mumbly! especially in DBC.tick - tick - tick0 -
The Millennium Trilogy: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, etc. Swedish version with dubbed English. I had watched part 1 before, but I hadn't continued, even though I liked it. I decided to give it another go the other day, and once you get past the first lesbian sex session the story gets strangely compelling. To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0

Mad Max Fury Road. Not as entertaining as the second Mad Max.
Might see Legend but Black Mass is a definite.0 -

I saw Interstellar twice at the cinema, I went again as the visuals were stunning and I guess it had the 'big' film feeling so few have now, a proper cinema experience.
Last film I saw was Kingsman, Secret Service. Was a little disappointing as it was certainly not as good as Kick-Ass which was made by the same team so I had high expectations.0 -

I remember watching this at the cinema when it came out and when we left somebody said "that was a brilliant film, I don't ever want to watch it again!". I understood him and this is the first time I've watched it since........ It's still a harrowing experience!!0 -

Im sure I remember James King or maybe even Dr Kermode saying it used to be fairly common for quotes of their reviews to be used like that on film posters, even when theyd given a film a really bad review, the publicists would just pick the best quote and use it out of context.
and the example theyd seen was something like "this film is excellent..." when the actual review was "this film is excellent is what I would be saying if I was a complete idiot" kind of thing, or "Outstanding..." from "Outstanding is not the feeling I had from watching this"0 -
I don't think it's the quote that's in question, which may be genuine, so much as the Guardians two stars situated between their ears in such a way as to make it look like there are more stars obscured by the back of their heads.0

Man Up
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3064298/
In a Terminator 2 like scenario I'd like to travel back in time to when Simon Pegg and co. were making Spaced, and warn him about the future. At the end of this fantasy he'd do the honourable thing:

Had a long haul flight the other week and watched:
Terminator Genesis - was actually pretty good.
Man up - I didn't fall asleep
The age of Adeline - not too soppy.. ok fairly soppy.
The worst film I watched this year was Chappie - now I'm a big fan of South African Sci-fi, but this was utter tosh.0 -
The last film I watched was Black Sea, mainly out of curiosity because part of it was filmed near where I live. (The sub looks even rustier in real life.) It ran through most of the desperado cliches but with some inversions such as the Russians not being the bad guys, and the ending was brave. Not a bad way to pass a couple of hours on a plane, but Still Alice will probably, er, live longer in the memory.0

Out of interest, you managed to finish it? I re-watched District 9 recently and it being a film I really enjoyed I looked up what the director had been up to since and so started watching Chappie last weekend..but had to give up on it half way through. The main criminal characters were the most irritating I've ever seen in a film since Jar Jar Binks, possibly more so. How no-one picked up on it during production is beyond me, they were that bad.0 -

Elysium was also unwatchable. 2 very big flops after the success of District 9.tick - tick - tick0 -

The "story" of William Shakespeare before he became famous!
It's a bit funny, a bit crap and a bit meh all at the same time!!0 -
I watched Napolean Dynamite the other day on DVD. My ex wife took all the DVD's when she left, so this and 2 others are the only ones remaining. I've watched Barber Shop recently, and while not a movie i'm currently dug into Sons of Anarchy on Netflix.0

Snatch. Found the DVD hiding at the bottom of a drawer. Brilliant fun & very quotable.
FWIW I'm also ploughing my way through Sons of Anarchy via the Sky Box Set - up to series 5 at the moment. It's ridiculous in terms of plotlines but still really watchable.CS7
