Ewan riding well again. He can sprint, but he climbs pretty well too.
I know he's (very) young but hopefully we'll see him in a few bigger events next year.

50ks to race, Sky caught the break and race leader off the back for 3mins. 30 or so riders clear off the front after the peloton split on the gradients. Astana driving now.

Formolo pushing it on the final descent, Aru chasing... cars and motorbikes struggling to stay in front of Formolo at times

Astana blew everyone away then Aru took it up a notch so there are not many riders in the front group with the rest of the group destroyed. Good to see Formolo going well. Heano looking lively and h has Nieve for company.

Nice win for De Clerq with Ulissi taking the sprint for 2nd, Reichenback 3rd and Heano 4th.

Good stage that but would have been nice to have a mountain stage finish on a mountain.

The result list for yesterdays stage is very bloody. Lots of decent riders got smoked big time.

Massive congratulations to those that were at the front end and those that came to race.

GT hopeful Kwiatek got blown out the water for 20 mins in his home race. Very poor show. He will need a nice win to redeem himself.

Rosa by himself with Boswell stringing out the bunch of about 25 quite nicely. In those lovely blue rapha shoes.

Boswell is spent and now Deignan and Puccio are the only Sky riders left at the front. Henao and Aru are there.

Hermans catches Nieve and goes straight to the front. Hermans is 6 secs back on GC and Nieve is 17. De Clerq has to do all the chasing himself.

He's closed the gap but dropped nobody - Henao goes...

Good from Sky to be fair.

Careful as Ulissi has ridden wheels the entire time and is just waiting to pounce.

Aru getting annoyed at leading the chase?
