Drag up to Ranmore, the narrow bit - is quite a drag really. I'd really call it part of the climb tbh.
Keep an eye out for Cancellara corner in Richmond park too - off camber but the road furniture hides it.

yeah Simon Brotherton, Chris Boardman and Rochelle Gilmore on BBC1. Where are Porter and Smith?
Wasn't quite sure what Boardman was on about regarding the time gaps, it said Chaser 0-20 and peloton 2-38 which he somehow interpreted as being the chaser being caught by peloton. But THAT would have been Chaser 2-20 rather than 0-20.0 -
So for context on how steep that ranmoore climb is - i hit around 70kph heading the other way down.0

Ranmore is a much worse climb than Box Hill. So's Leith Hill, for that matter. The descent on Box Hill is nicer though cos the road was resurfaced for the Olympics. Hit 83k/h on the top zigzag a couple of weeks back - doing that in Ranmore is much sketchierFat chopper. Some racing. Some testing. Some crashing.

Box hill next - most of you should be familiar with that one after the olympics...;).
Similar top - no descent immediately afterwards.
Few speed bumps there too that were taken out for the olympics, but the tarmac is still super fast.0 -

That Ranmore climb, unless they've redone it in the last 3 weeks is lethal - lots of club run riders refuse to go down it - too gravelly and potholey.0 -

This little drop into Westcott is bloody quick too btw. In fact, the whole run from Ripley to Dorking is a lovely route - one of my favourite training runs. Has the lump of Newlands, a quick descent then is rolling through some of the loveliest countryside you could ever wish for. You should try listening to Porter and Smith. It's like Porter isn't even listening to him.
