The big race today is the KOM.

If the four riders in the break stay away and crest tile Croix de Fer then there are 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points left to gain

    Current standings:

    1. FRABARDET Romain 12 AG2R LA MONDIALE 90 pts
    2. GBRFROOME Christopher 31 TEAM SKY 87 pts
    3. ESPRODRIGUEZ OLIVER Joachim 91 TEAM KATUSHA 78 pts
    4. DENFUGLSANG Jakob 3 ASTANA PRO TEAM 64 pts
    5. COLQUINTANA ROJAS Nairo Alexander 51 MOVISTAR TEAM 56 pts
    6. BELPAUWELS Serge 218 MTN-QHUBEKA 55 pts
    7. FRAROLLAND Pierre 121 TEAM EUROPCAR 54 pts
    8. ITANIBALI Vincenzo 1 ASTANA PRO TEAM 47 pts
    9. POLMAJKA Rafal 45 TINKOFF-SAXO 40 pts
    10. AUSPORTE Richie 35 TEAM SKY 40 pts

So probably a little sprint between Gadret, Pauwels, Rolland and J-Rod, if they haven't been dropped.

    *Raises eyebrow*

    Bloody French producer :D

Just saw froome getting some gels down him with his team mates around him. Graphic showed "arrière du peloton". Got me excited for at least half a second.

Trouble at Dutch corner for the Sky Vehicles? Reported on ITV. Doesn't sound likely - but if so very worrying.

Richmond Racer has found an Euskaltel rider who got lost on the Alpe a few years ago.

So looks like no-one is willing or able to take a risk and it's going to come down to the Alpe. Given the length of the stage I really can't see anyone losing minutes up there.

They were attacked at Irish corner a couple of years back. apparently.

I'll call the parent's in law, they are at Dutch corner today, see what the word on the street's is.

If Movistar, Sky and AG2R still have a team at the bottom of the Alp, that is going to be super fast.

Funny story about these hairpins the break are on at the moment. About 10 years ago now I was on a cycling holiday with my then club and a few of us rode from our hotel at the bottom of the Bourg side of the Croix De Ferre over the Glandon and back up the Croix de Ferre via the Mollard. On the way up the hairpins at the last bit of CDF, this guy just lost it. He got off his bike and said he was hailing the next car that came past and getting a lift to the top. After 5 minutes a renault 4 with a farmer and 2 goats in came past and that was the only vehicle we saw until we got to the cafe at the top.

He sold his bike 2 weeks after we got back and never rode again.
