Why no GPS thingy under Froome's saddle?
I think the mechanics can put it where they like?0 -
Bit of an interesting back story to Alexis Vuillermoz from inrng:
"As you might know Vuillermoz is an ex-MTB rider but when he turned pro on the road he’d barely had any experience on the road and joined Sojasun thanks to contacts with BH bikes, his MTB sponsor who backed the defunct road team. “Pikachu” (explanation here) was good enough as a neo-pro – Vo2 max 87 – to ride the Tour de France but the Sojasun team stopped, leaving him high and dry. He had no team interested until late October. As he told L’Equipe earlier this week he almost stopped but, despite having a masters degree in banking and insurance, wanted to ride on. A retired entrepreneur and keen cyclist Daniel Germond – let’s name him to credit him – stepped in and told Ag2r La Mondiale that if they hired Vuillermoz he’d cover his wages. The rest is history."0 -
Froome looked very comfortable and in control to me.0

I can't work out if contador is sandbagging. In most flat stages, he seems to be grimacing to hold his teammates wheels (or not). Yet today, looked a bit stronger on this mur, compared to the last mur where he lost time to froome.
If you want to do the Giro-Tour double then probably your best shot is to come into the first week a bit undercooked and attempt to peak for the most important mountain stages in the second and third week.
Personally I said before the start that I don't think he can do the double, especially against this field. That said Contador is an experienced tactician and if there is a way of doing the double then he'll find it.0 -

I love the interview Ned did with the Erirtrean fans.
You could feel their pride shingin through the telly0 -

It was on the telly, so they generally put them on their website (itv.com/itv4)
Edit - Think this is it, I'm in work so can't check http://www.itv.com/tourdefrance/2015-tour-stage-8-reaction-teklehaimanot-for-support0 -
The Orica GreenEdge video for Stage 8 shows how crazy the fans were going for Teklehaimanot. They also drove past him in the team car during the stage and asked "No breakaway today?" to which Daniel replied "No! I will later!". It'd be great to see him defending the jersey in the mountains.0

He'd have to win Tuesday's stage then, as they're the only points avaiable that day and there's about 50 of 'em!0

Great finish that hill.
Whets the appetite nicely.
Can safely say Nibs won't be winning the Tour.
Stupid question but highlights didn't say - was the winner French?0 -
