***TdF Stage 7 SPOILER***

Let's not get too carried away. He won one stage. That should be the least expected of him.
Can't you just congratulate him on 26 stages?
I have a lot of good things to say about him so I'm not worried there.Contador is the Greatest0 -

With the possibility for two more. Fingers crossed!0 -
I did tell you. He always needs 2 or 3 stages before he gets it right.
Renshaw looks out of form to me. It's like he hasn't got enough power to drop Cav off where he wants to be and just has to swing off with 600m to go.
Not sure, he was there today until 400m where Cavendish told him he wasn't required so he was doing his job fine. I think the team as a whole has been going too early in previous sprints.0 -

Nice to see Cav has his family with him at the Tour, contrasts with the attitude in some sports where family are somehow seen as a distraction.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

He mentioned them being in his room last night which surprised me. I assume they didn't actually stay there though.0 -

Oh right. Fair enough then.0 -
MY MAN!
Whoop whoop. I've totally missed the last few days action because of work, but glad to see my PTP Cav jinx still works (today I picked Greipel).
And I'm sorry but has anyone seen these godawful highlight videos showcased here:

I was waiting for René and Edith to show up.
Correlation is not causation.0 -

I've always been a bit ambivalent about Greipel - I like to see him win from time to time, as I think he deserves it, but haven't ever formed an opinion of him as a bloke - I've quite warmed to him now.0 -

We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

The legend, the myth that is Rolf Sørensen also had Stybar as Trentino yesterday tbf.
But Cav.. That's another level.
Hayles and brotherton said Trentin on 5 live too...http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Nice win by Cav, showing that when he gets the timing right and reads it well that he still has a great jump.
I do wonder whether we'll start to see sprinters marking each other a bit more as they seem to be doing well coming off each others wheels - rather than them each having top lead outs.0 -
Cavendish is now third in TdF stage wins, behind only Merckx and Hinault0
-
He was (joint) third already, today's win hasn't moved him up the list. And if you count 'proper' stages (i.e. not girly boring TT stages) I think he's first.0
-
My money would be on him falling short of the Merckx record but it should be close.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

And there's us who think a TT win is something else than a 300m sprint but I'm not going to take on that discussion again..0 -

And perhaps you're right - it's subjective I suppose. We're all different and I wasn't looking for an argument. Sorry - I should have phrased that more sensitively - still on a high after the win0 -

2nd isn't a bad place to be!0 -

So Cav's famo at the finish today and he wins. Stybar's there yday and he wins. Martin's there when he won.
Seems to me that it works. We just need to have Contador's wife (alternating with his dog) at all the MTFs then it will be job done.Contador is the Greatest0 -

For the first time in ages we agree.0 -

Merckx did win just a few GTs, a couple of classics and the odd race here and there as well though.0 -
Don't see anyone claiming his overall trophy cabinet compares to Merckx's.0

Well done.to Mr Cvndsh.
Glad to see he has reverted to proper cycling headwear rather than that ridiculous wide-brimmed monstrosity vaguely related to a baseball cap he was sporting after stage five. He looked like a Japanese tourist woman.0 -
