    Bertie and Froome having a good natter on the roll out. From what I've seen they seem to be quite good friends.

    Really hoping for cross winds as I don't see the giddy heights of a 6m mountain having enough influence.

    I think Greg ate all the pies... but not as many as last year.

    Who's going to fall off in the neutral zone on the first road stage this year then?

    That's a guessing game that's got far harder since the demise of the "carrots". Back in the day the best guess would have been "The entire Euskaltel-Euskadi team".

    Here's a question. If Haimar Zubeldia falls in the neutral zone does anyone notice?

    Will be fun if Valverde gets another puncture.
    The Tour could be lost today, on the stage that Frenchie is writing off as a non event.

    Slightly off topic:

    Due to work/children/uppity Eurosport player etc, keeping up with this years TdF is going to be a PITA. Can anyone give me a link to somewhere where I can get a quick and easy look at the overall standings/results please?

    Cheers ta.

    PS Lets hope French Posties are a bit more chilled out than their Dutch counterparts over the next few weeks.

    Now that was a Chateau, doubt the French will be able to beat that over the next 2 weeks!

    It is quite interesting seeing what non-Dutch people consider to be windy.

    Lemond seems to think echelons and roundabouts could play there part today.

    Just a warning - dutch weather has predicted a stormpocolypse every day for the past week and it hasnt materialised. Inland* it's really not very windy at all and it's baking hot but less so than yesterday. However, every sailor will tell you that trying to predict the sea breeze is guesswork at best but it will blow vaguely offshore. How it will interact with the genuine off shore breeze we have now will be interesting.

    Sadly it's not going through the bulb fields and it's not the right time of year but I bl**dy love the Deltawerken and the Oosterscheldekering is a sight to behold.

    But the weather is not looking promising.

    Is that a real word? How on earth do you come up with such a monstrosity :shock:

    Oosterscheldekering

    Ooster = Eastern

    Schelde = the river Scheldt

    Oosterschedle = Eastern Scheldt

    Kering = barrier

    Oosterscheldekering = Eastern Scheldt Barrier.

    Wind in Gouda has just done a 180 and increased by 15 - 20 kph gonna be a head wind for the riders and, more importantly, ME!

    Sky is darkening very ominously.

    The sexy sky carer has just gone past me...

    Any chance of echelons? Opted to watch the start of the British GP and then switch over but it's turned out to be more exciting than normal. Will switch over to the Tour if it starts kicking off....

    According to LeMond yes. Carlton Kirby is getting quite excited about the conditions - which probably means nothing exciting will happen.

    That Richard Virenque Festina add is going to get very boring, very quickly.

    So far this stage has had a disappointing lack of road furniture.

    I'm dreading another 3 weeks of that toothy grinning guy fondling his De Rosa in the Wiggle advert.
