Polanc has 2 mins at 2k to go, gap dropping steadily.

And Aru/Porte/Contador already have about a minute on everyone!

Pretty happy Aru is able to be in the GC contention so far.

Landa pulling for Aru who are 1.40 behind Polnac. Another small minute to the chasing bunch led by Movistar.

    Astana being boss!!!

Uran still not a GC contender. Porte has been on his jack Jones for most of that climb?

Frenchie, you're right - those shoes are a travesty.

Chava hanging on for 2nd... or is he... barely. Aru gets 3rd I think. Contador in pink?

Didn't expect that from Polnac, great win from him - congratulations!

Glad Contador gave it a go but would have been nice if he got a gap. Early days and doubt he is digging deep. Those shoes really detract massively from the viewing pleasure.

Looks like we have a real race on. Can't see Bertie being able to win 2 hard races, so he'd better hope Porte inplodes, because Aru won't judging on last season..

That folks, is what we call good bike racing. These short Giro stages often churn out some good racing vs the long mountain ones.

Only 2 1/2 weeks to go!

Hopefully they give Contador some pink shoes for tomorrow. Got to be better than those black things.

Have to agree. Also the blue goes well with the pink.

    Black shoes should be banned.

That became quite entertaining in the end. Advantage Porte. More pressure on Contador and Aru to drop him on steeper terrain. Teams Tinkoff and Sky taking a hiding from Astana. This race has potential.

Work is annoying. I even missed PTP. Looks like a good stage.

I wonder whether all these interesting stages at the beginning will lead to a dull final week. Only time will tell.

Am I to believe that these two stages have not been a "Snoozefest" and some people are finally entertained by a cycle race.
    Good Grief, wonders never cease.

4pm meetings should be banned during the Giro.
