    This is brilliant.

Kwiatek showing why he is an amazing rider.

All planned out as well as he is now on BIG TONE'S WHEEEEEL.

    Brilliant.

    Ah shame. Kwiatek blew.

Nice win for the breakaway boys. Think it was Landa.

Mollema crashed quite hard earlier with Frank Schleck. He is torn up but was paced back and has not lost much time at all. Fighter that guy.

Landa riding up those 20+ percent gradients like he wasn't even trying. Whilst the riders behind him (Like J-Rod, Henao, etc) looked like they were proper suffering.

Just pure coincidence Landa riders for Astana.

Landa had the others beaten quite early though, while the GC guys were straining for every second.

Henao for the Vuelta - you heard it here first.
  • Some Russian youngster called Ilnor Zakarin put in a decent attack on the last climb.

When did Dombrowski win the Baby Giro? Zakarin was very strong in that race. But as Joel pointed out, tested positive a while ago.

Joint winners from the same team? Conspiracy theorists will have a field day!

Just watched it again, and (to me) he just sailed up that final climb. ALL the other riders behind were suffering and straining to get up it. Not just the GC guys.

My spidey-sense is tingling is all.

Pretty silly thing to say isn't it. Especially from you.

Wellens was 3 secs slower. Are those three seconds the difference between doped or not?

Heano had all those guys covered no problem so not like they were going all out for GC. Landa was riding for the win. Ie/. he is probably turning himself inside out as much as he physically can.

Landa also is a Basque boy and probably knows this climb. He rode for Euskaltel until 2014.

The time trial will be interesting. It's a very technical route particularly if it's wet.

Two years ago they used some of the same roads for longer less hilly course (Martin won) and everyone was shocked when Quintana beat Richie Porte. It turned out that four of the top eight lived locally (including Quintana and Henao) and it was quite an advantage. I don't know if the Colombians still live there or have bunked off to Monaco with their landlord Uran.

A quality last 25k was that. Some good tactics (even if they didn't really work out) and some tricky terrain. Quintana really needs the longer climbs to make the difference. Henao is looking really sharp however. One to watch for the Ardennes? Sky are getting better at the one day-ers you know ;)

What if Lieuwe Westra puts in a great performance, or Lars Boom? Or is it only 'dodgy' southern and eastern Europeans we have prejudices against?
  • Alexi Vuillermoz has been riding solidly this week. Not spectacularly, but solid top tens all week.
