Ok - nothing much on BBC or Wunderground (bit on Friday). Ah well, it is what it is. I just need to bring the appropriate gear with me as I jump on a plane tomorrow morning.
Anybody up for a social ride? I see I now have the option to ride with a bunch of RCC people but I not fussed about doing that if one or two of you guys are interested in riding together. But if you have other plans, I'll also ride with the RCC folks.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

I shall arrive with Roger and given the recent aline mileage, I'm happy to take it easy for the day... I'll probably wear my blue Torm jersey, just to be different...left the forum March 20230

I'm happy to ride with anyone, as it stands I'm the only person I know riding....0 -
I'll be taking it easy since well it's a new bike for me. and I've been struggling a bit with health this winter.
looking rather hairy I suspect, with MTB baggy shorts etc.0 -

Except me - for whatever reason I have beautifully hairless legs (and nothing to do with the infinite range of hair removal devices available to me).
I'm still stuck at Schiphol - flight 2 hours late (thanks to the French).
I wish I had my Bike Radar jersey with me as it would seem appropriate for this ride.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

You'll be doing like they do with the Pro team cars and hanging onto your G&T as its passed over for 20 miles

I am in - am riding my pseudo cross bike with marathons (32) and guards. Am I better off taking the guards off - there is not much clearance but I fancy my chances better with my marathon pluses.
Also I am not sure I am going to manage this as I struggled last week doing 100km on the road so am very nervous.
Finally anyone going from near Ruislip - if you are and cycling - care to go together as I have not figured out how.
PM me if you that way.
cheers

Hey Sam
I'll ride in with you, do you think you can make it OK to Harrow Recreation ground? Perhaps if we meet at the bench near the toilets that you can see in the distance here:
http://goo.gl/maps/cXKaK
I guess if we aim to meet about 8:20am?
If anyone else is coming in from West London they're welcome to join.
I'd recommend you take off the mud guards, you don't want them getting clogged up.
Cheers

I'd taken my guards off in anticipation of this, as mentioned you don't want them clogging up. I did put a plastic butt fender under my seat to minimise the sh!t streak up the back.
I still feel dreadful, which I'm kind of glad about as I'd be thoroughly p'ed off if I made a sudden recovery and could manage the ride.0 -
just did a test ride on our local pave and sure enough the front mech is rubbing on the small small again, it keeps doing that and no matter how much adjusting of the damn sram FD it just wont play nicely.

Aside from being a clear violation of rule #90, you're also wasting 3 watts:

Did a test 35 with my bro using his Boardman CX (he was on his Volagi) today. Blimey, the Boardman feels like hard work   Worth doing as the chain was rather rusty too and I played with the tyre pressure on the 28s.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0
