Surely it's only better if you do do something about it? It's like knowing you are going to get run over tomorrow and crossing the road anyway, all it does is ruin todaywww.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Anyone "doing something" ends up like Gary Webb.0

Knowing about the world we live in has to be better than not knowing. I just choose to think a lot of stuff that gets laughed off as bunk, isn't. People blame the internet for every crazy theory under the sun and yes, there's nothing you can't find on the internet of course... but it is exactly because of the internet that anything true comes out.
Being aware of current affairs etc is worse, because you quickly realise you cannot do a thing about anything, writing to your mp, joining a protest movement, voting, all leads to no change.....unless millions also start to feel the same way as you, our voting system means we are always governed by a minority of the total electorate.
It is this feeling that probably explains why IS is popular amongst some Muslims, it promises change and action, it is also this feeling that leads to folk like Manc seeking answers where there aren't any.0 -

Try going for a week without TV, internet, radio, newspapers or any factual reading.
You will get initial withdrawal symptoms but by the end of the week you will have an ignorant but fuller, and happier life.
Thanks for prompting the memory. Must go.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
NIMRUD. False gods spur AK47 toting tw4ts with beards to destroy Iraqi heritage. As if Allah isn't a fraud himself.
not forgetting our wonderful friends the Taliban.
Before idiots who believe in Allah.
And after they have worked out how to use TNT.Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.0 -

You can always count on the edl to make a bad situation much worsewww.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
I don't know much about the EDL but I bet they started off as a perfectly rational normal group that gradually got made into a "right wing" group.
That's always done so they can then then point at such groups and say "Do you really want that as an alternative to the Tories?" (or Labour)
"Hell no!" we all say. A bunch of fat red-faced lager drinking racist tattooed and above all else gullible people... the thing is the EDL probably started with good intentions and never had skinhead racists as its followers, then over a few years got infiltrated and turned into something totally exaggerated, although still loosely based on its original principles. Same with the BNP, probably started off with sound policies, now look at it, its only there to make the two main parties and the Lib Dems look good.
Communism was even created for the same reasons, to point at it and say "look at your alternative". What they neglect to say is that there are infinite possibilities, not just capitalism or communism. In both models the top people have all the money therefore it is the same thing anyway. Everyone working hard, no one has got any spare cash. As long as it stays that way nothing can change because no one even has the spare time to think anymore.0 -

Actually, I'm pretty sure they started out as ignorant right wing morons - and haven't really moved on from that.0 -
I heard Jihadi John is collaborating with NWA and they are bringing an album out next year, might not be true.0

John is teaming up with a well-known 1970s group... they are calling themselves "JihaddyWaddy".
Their music will mostly be tribute songs to terrorist acts carried out in the 1950s and 1960s.
Someone has to stop this sick bastard!0 -

The whole Jihadi/Teddy Boy music scene is musically pretty exciting, of course, but it's tough for really distinctive acts to succeed in the current climate, and several bands have taken a real beating from the critics: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... board.html0

yeah hilarious.
esp the 2 men being thrown to their deaths for being gay and the teenagers shot for watching footie, can't stop laughing.
But safe in the knowledge that none of it happened and its CGI from our friends in Mi6 and CIA0 -
A Pakistani resident is facing charges of raping 30 sheeps belonging to a citizen in Al Aflag. The arrest came following a complaint received by the police station from a citizen reporting the capturing of the accused offender in the sheeps yard.
The sheep owner filed a complaint to the security authorities to analyze his cattle, Ministry of Agriculture will execute the analysis on the animals to complete the investigation procedures with the accused offender.
This IS real !0 -

But black humour can be a tricky thing when talking about ISIS. Yesterday, a Guardian article on the destruction of Hatra briefly linked to this tweet from 'an ISIS supporter':

I guess they didn't check his Twitter feed first:
