  • Surprisingly exciting this is! And a long time for them to keep the hammer down so early in the season.

It's not surprising, Qatar always has one or two stages like this.

That there is racing like this is not surprising...it is how much I am enjoying it that is

    So.
You invite riders who are essentially rolling advertising boards to a race to showcase your region and it's not on telly?

    Excellent.

Bouhanni and Pozzato are dropped. 35 riders in the first group, 50 km to go.

Démare gets back in the first group.
Kittel and Cancellara are now 1'20 away.

Uff, not messing around with the quality of that group.

    kristoff wins
  • Decent win. Would have liked Guardini to take it if it wasn't going to be Boonen.

2nd smallish group 20 secs back.

Change the desert for wet cobbles and you could certainly picture a group like that leading in a few weeks. My man Rowe is going to get a good result this season.

Sounds like some hard riding to force a selection like that. Good to see my man Stannard the right side of the split.

48kph average and a sizable group nearly 24 minutes down. That must have brutal for those who've had an easy winter.
