He's in a proper amount of pain.

Great win by my man Degenkolb!

Yeah the German won with a bald head, black oversocks in the dessert and his terrible mustache still in place.

He looks smoked from that effort. Decent margin.

You've met me. You must surely know I care little for fashion.
  • Ha!

He did well to haul his 90kg up that incline. Some serious power unleashed no doubt.

Also worth noting that after all the Dubai bashing the scenery is fairly spectacular. Makes me want to visit.

I'm telling you. He is going to go very close in MSR and Flanders.

So tomorrow is a sprint stage
Bonuses of 10-6-4 on the line and 3-2-1 at each of the two intermediate sprints

I would favour Cavendish for the GC win. Just.

Oh I see. I agree, that's why I drafted him into my squad. I think he could hang in there in P-R too.

Oh really, the man who finished 2nd in Paris-Roubaix?

Yeah, I guess he could hang in there...

Doesnt fall foul of the Chasey "is he really old enough yet" paradigm?

My point was that he is not going to ride off into the distance in Cancellera style and I doubt he will be given as easy a ride this year, but he might be able to cling on to the coat tails of Sep. Although he might not. I summarised this opinion with the more catchy version "he could hang in there in P-R too".

Ladies Tour of Qatar has been going on. Three sprints, Lizzie won the last and took the overall.

    Final stage today.

Which Armitstead won, taking the overall too.

Solid start to the season for her and her team.

If it's 1 1-2 for Cav and JD, then Cav will take the overall on countback.

Only problem is they had to leave the Emirate of Dubai to find such scenery. They ended up 5km from the Oman border at the Hatta Dam but bizarrely back in the Emirate of Dubai by the end as they have a very odd patchwork of who seems to own what in the UAE - the Hatta area was gifted to the then Ruler of Dubai by the Sultan of Muscat and Oman over 100 years ago. Cheers to Wiki! :D

    Cav

Renshaw even made a gap on the field.

Sky blew with 1.3k to go.

    Ha.

Impressive lead-out by EQS. Never in danger and hugely fast. Cav is also varying his sprints now, some from distance. A way to beat the other big German?
