A Giant bottle cage won't fit a Boardman frame as it is American and hence all fittings are Imperial whereas the frame is British and has metric fittings.

That's £13 and loads of valuable energy wasted.

Yep, I have about 10 bottles here and I've payed for none of them. About £3 - £5 for a holder, job done

It fitted fine. I had no problems putting it on except couldn't find an Allen key so used something similar.

The guy at the shop said any bottle on display fits any cage on display.

I got it from all terrain cycles who are a specialist in mtb

What did you use that is 'similar' to an Allen key?

I would keep a close eye on that bottle cage: Dissimilar brands can act a bit like dissimilar metals and lead to corrosion and weakening of the frame. The last thing you want is your down tube to snap as a result of such a schoolboy error.
