A decent last hour, very good last 5 km, but very dull rest0

Anyone seen Sagan?
Did he go on the climb or the descent?
Saw the last 2.5km...
Ah, good lad. "Anticiperen."
Surprised GvA didn't do that.0 -
Lefevre got his world champion after all0
-
BOOOOOOOM. Killer Kwiatek. He was my pick as well funnily enough.
Pro cyclist's are really stupid sometimes. They let him go...the guy is ridiculously strong and knows how to ride a bloc. They should have known that. But no, I guess they just rode conservatively and waited for the last few hundred metres of the climb.
Thanks goodness that ugly Australian didnt win - what a total disgrace of a bike rider.
Still, 248km of turning the legs round then 7km of racing. What a sh*t race and showcase for cycling.Contador is the Greatest0 -
I really thought they were going to catch him. That was the longest finishing straights ever.
Love Kwia, so damn classy on the bike.Correlation is not causation.0 -

He went on the damn.
Man that's made my worlds that has. I take it all back, I LOVE Ponferrada.Correlation is not causation.0 -

Enough about your day out on the bike, what did you think about the race?0 -

Shouldn't have just left it to Gilbert...0 -
Michal Kwiatkowski - World Champion.
Glad that Gerrans and Valverde both came up short.0 -
Yes, this was a much better race than all the others in Ponferrada.
This had a whole 7kms of contender action, not the usual 4."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Exactly if they'd worked together... but then I guess you don't want to do that and then have Gerrans beat you.
It was sort of the same with the women yesterday although they were the lead group. These dynamics are always fascinating.Correlation is not causation.0 -
The Worlds is probably in the top 5 single day races of the year for me.0

The last hundred km was pretty entertaining to be honest. The Kennaugh move, then Martin's tactical attack to get the Aussies to start working. Then a changing feast of between three and seven riders up front til the final decider which was a will-they-won't-they chase down. Last-third-of-a-race-more-exciting-than-first-two-thirds-shocker...0 -

So the Tour of Britain really was good preparation for the worlds :-)0

Didn't Gerrans/Valverde pip Kwia close to the line in one of the Ardennes races this year after Kwia had gone on a long(ish) attack?
I can't quite remember if I'm remembering it right, or was it Pozzovivo?Correlation is not causation.0 -

So which of the monuments don't you put in your top 5?
Milan-San Remo I s'pose. You have to watch it and get into it because it's the first monument of the season. But as a race it's not usually exciting.0 -

It's none of them, since it's actually the WC.
The stakes may be the highest, but therein lies the problem.
