Top tip - if, like me, you are completely uninterested in reading anything that Bender and his various aliases have to say, simply put him on 'ignore' via the settings in the user control panel. It makes reading threads like this much more interesting, and far less tedious.

It's a shame the mods don't respond to this sort of trolling.

Heh! I have. I'm only catching snippets of drivel via use of quotes...

I can definitely recommend my colleagues...

And there I was, thinking that the forum rules ban advertising... :)

Where is the problem, it's not advertising; its a solid recommendation.

You're getting your knickers in a twist over nothing. :D

Can you drop the crap? Alternatively, go see a councillor to discuss your angst.

Apologies to anyone else who's still following.

I've just ended another two days in the second highest court of the land fighting a big cycling safety legal case involving me personally but which has nationwide legal ramifications. It follows 7 days of hearing in the Supreme Court (well more like 10 days when I consider preliminaries and battle over costs so far). All done at massive personal financial risk but it's worth fighting for to improve the safety for generations of cyclists, or at least their legal rights.

Congratulations, I had a similar experience myself with a wooden "boom gate" on a bridal path here in the UK, the line of the boom created an optical illusion that it was further back than it was and part of the fence some 50m back. It was only when you got within a few feet that you could see it. Fortunately I was able to stop, despite tanking it along. I immediately chalked some lines on it using chalk laying around and got the highway department to put some warnings up. Sorry you had get yours fixed the hard way.
