Froome about 13-14s back in the end

Meanwhile Valverde jumps J-Rod in the last few hundred metres, +53 and +57 respectively I think.

    Froome 2nd on GC now?

  • Nice podium battle set up now.

More of a 'pfft' wouldn't you say?

Don't get me wrong, AC rode the stage perfectly given his lead over Froome but it wasn't exactly a champions win.
Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.

Settles the question of who's second best to Quintana for this GT.

What a season that nearly was.

Eh? No idea why I would need another username to comment that AC's win wasn't all conquering like your multi-coloured, enlarged type faced, capitalised 'BOOM' indicated.

Or am I not allowed to contribute/comment on the days racing?

Quintana and Contador have never gone toe to toe properly in a GT. Hopefully that will be in the Tour next year but would be nice if they both raced.
In TA this year Contador beat him convincingly. Beat him in Catalunya.
In fact over the 6 mountains this year, Contador has placed ahead of him on all 6.

Pub talk for the off-season. If Contador can keep this up, Froome stay up, Quintana turn up, and World Champ Nibali be bothered, well 2015 ...

When was the last time there were 4 serious, equal, contenders for GTs?

All Froome has to do now is get Pete Kennaugh to ride alongside Contador poking him until he punches him.

(It has to be Kennaugh as he is small and I image he has the capacity to be really annoying)

Wouldn't even have to poke him... could just constantly make this noise and Contador would crack and thump him pretty soon! Then it'd look unprovoked :P
  • Finally catching up.
A very enjoyable finish to a very tough stage.
This was always going to be more like a Froome type stage.

manages to make him look more Clark Kent than Superman. :P

Bertie is definitely back to his pre ban climbing levels.
His words of warning yesterday, to his two compatriots proved prophetic.
They didn't work to distance the Sky man and today paid the price.

How many times do you think he'd have to ask 'Is your leg still sore?' before he got pistoleroed?

I'd go for the Snowman - could probably throw in some intra-Iberian bad blood.
