Utterly scathing look aimed at TV by Bakelants. Jan's becoming a bit of a whinger.

On the slopes of the Tourmalet. 4mins. Kadri lifted the pace. They need to watch out for Tofimov if he is on form.

Has Ladagnous had his aero faring banned by UCI? Looks a bit smaller than I remember it.

I started my stopwatch when Reza passed the sign. Am I doing it right?

Nieve and Kadri about to join Chavanel ~30s off the front of the break.

Ag2R, with 2 riders hoping for a historic podium, have Kadri in the lead group of 2.

Nieve and Kadri working well with 30 secs ahead of Trofimov, Huzarski and De Marchi. Peloton at 4mins.

What is the consensus on the first clean rider on this list?
Someone in 30s, maybe. The problem is that back in the 90s just about everyone was doped so we never got the chance to see what a top clean rider could do. Some of those doing 35.30 could quite possibly do 37.30 clean.
Another way of looking at it is that there simply weren't any clean riders near the top of the tree in that era: career opportunities weren't that great for them.

I'd also go for Sastre #74, who is widely assumed to have been clean. It's scary to think there's more than a decade's worth of performances there that have been discredited by evidence or association.

    Voeckler 1.45 by himself.

Amazingly De Marchi is doing most of the pulling. Their gap is 47 though.

Voeckler looked like he needed a little cry a couple of minutes ago.

Changed the TV in the lobby area over from the commonwealths (who cares about that?)

Between Kiri and Nieve today Sky seem to be doing what they said they would do after Porte caved - "animate the race". Getting themselves plenty of exposure at least.

Kadri suffering so Nieve goes solo. Venga.

Then Kadri gives it some and rejoins.

It's amazing how many fans you see wearing polka dot kit compared to any of the other jerseys

Doesn't the Carrefour float in the caravan chuck out plenty of the polka dot shirts as they go past... same as LCL seem to ensure that everyone in the finishing 100m is wearing a yellow LCL hat...
