"We were scared out of our wits, like everyone else, but after talking with him, everything seems okay," Portal said. "He hit the tarmac hard, but everything's all right. I'm not superstitious, but this is one fall we could've done without."

If they hugged the coast there would be a lot of up and down and it would look great passing along the Downs and through the middle of towns like Eastbourne, Hastings etc, packed with people on staycation.
Packed with old people who don't know what's going on.
God the adverts on ITV4 are so low rent. Dodgy loans, insurance brokers, negligence lawyers.... all the shite in the world we could so do without0 -

Not Brighton. That's packed with young people so out of their minds on drugs they don't know what's going on....
Anyway, don't knock old people - they are the future.......Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0 -

Hard to say, Carlton says he does but I'm not sure I can tell either way. I'd say he looks very narked off more than anything myself...
Thanks. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.0 -

I am fully aware of what is going on around me, thank you nurse.Half man, Half bike0 -
Coming up to the sprint at Cassel. I'm currently writing a cycling memoir so here's a little bit about the cobbled section that I rode up but they will be descending:
"The Avenue Albert Mahieu is a little over one and a half kilometres long and rises a modest 50m or so at an average of 3.2%. However, the maximum gradient is a small section at 10% and what’s more, the whole thing is paved in cobblestones. God knows why the local council has decided not to cover it with tar like any civilised administration would. Maybe it’s a traffic calming measure or possibly to enhance the approach to the town and to suggest a medieval grandeur. Or perhaps its so that the locals get the enjoyment of watching a constant stream of unfit amateur cyclists attempt to retain a crumb of dignity while they weave and crawl their way up the winding street, joints creaking and eyeballs rolling back in their skulls as they drain every last drop of effort from their burning legs in order to arrive in the market square under their own steam. This was certainly the effect it was having on me, although I did get a slight break about half way up the hill as DT Dave set off ahead of me, his backside out of the saddle in order to crush my spirit with his superior climbing skills. Unfortunately for him, the bouncing and rattling effect of the cobbles, together with the liberal coating of mud and grease on his bike meant that a gear cable somehow became jammed and he got stuck in the big chain ring, leading to a nasty collision between his genital region and the crossbar. Having stopped to comfort him, or something like that, I now had to clip in again and set off from a standing start with wobbly legs on the slippery, uneven surface. Luckily I was already in a very low gear, and furthermore I cheated by riding the first 20 metres on the lovely smooth pavement."

There's a GIF of the crash here. Not Froome's fault.
