Well the points jersey looks like a one-man race already.

Still deciding between Nibali, Albasini, and Navardauskas today. Nibs e/w I think.

skybet let you bet against 1 rider on a head2head basis, so I've put on kittel not to win@5/6 and griepel, sagan and kristoff e/w. (sagan was only 4-1, others about 10s)

the overall bets i don't think are much value tbh, bookies back themselves and don't seem to know too much imo, so took sagan for green @ 5/6, yates for white 12-1, berti GC @ 7/4 and rolland @ 100/30.

i think the live betting could be a good way to make decent money, shame most of us have to work!!

Paddy Power do two riders head-to-head which is what I'm doing each day. Yesterday I had Nibali (ha!) to beat Van den Broeck at 5/6, today it's Coquard to beat Kristoff at Evens.

Cycling is still at that point where you can find some very good odds on it. Nibali at 50/1+ yesterday was crazy.

yeah bookies clearly dont have a full time cycling bookie, so they do the research themselves - hence big names at small price, but good performers who go under radar are sometimes massive.

i got quintana for giro at 8-1, shame i only put £5 on!

Green Jersey at William Hill - Bryan Coquard 16/1 - good E/W bet as he's going for the intermediates.

I've so far bet a fiver on a head-to-head on each stage. So far it's been going well.

Stage 1: Costa to beat Valverde @11/8 - LOSS
Stage 2: Nibali to beat Van den Broeck @5/6 - WIN
Stage 3: Coquard to beat Kristoff @Evens - WIN
Stage 4: Dempster to beat Navarduaskas @5/4 - WIN

Tomorrow Valverde to beat Kwaikowski @15/8

I have to say it's not like when Evans was riding - he was like an ATM in this market.

With Froome looking dodgy I've had a fiver E/W on VdB at 66/1.

With this head to head lark, I've discovered an easy way to make a small amount of money.

I've bet a fiver every day. I never pick the favourite of the two and I try and pick a match up (from a selection of about ten) that is unlikely to contest the win.

    Here's how it's gone:

    Stage 1: 11/8 - LOSS Costa (31st) to beat Valverde (24th)
Stage 2: 5/6 - WIN Nibali (1) to beat Van den Broeck (11)
Stage 3: Evs - WIN Coquard (4) to beat Kristoff (5)
    Stage 4: 5/4 - WIN Dempster (16) to beat Navarduaskas (173)
    Stage 5: 15/8 - LOSS Valverde (26) to beat Kwiatkowski (7)
    Stage 6: 11/10 - WIN Van Avermaet (13) to beat Albasini (61)
    Stage 7: 15/8 - WIN Gallopin (3) to beat Kwiatkowski (22)
    Stage 8: 5/2 - LOSS Albasini (151) to beat Kwiatkowski (27)
    Stage 9: 6/4 - WIN Mollema (34) to beat Bardet (46)
    Stage 10: 6/5 - LOSS Fuglsang (25) to beat Nieve (10)
    Stage 11: 6/4 - WIN Simon (44) to beat Vichot (155)
    Stage 12: 6/5 - WIN Kwiatkowski (16) to beat Gallopin (139)

Current profit: £51.30 - not massive, but I'm only doing this for fun

Tomorrow: J-Rod to beat Navarro 11/10

You're not going to get rich, but I think head to heads are a good market. In a lot of those bets, the two riders just freewheeled over the line.

I've got a few E/W still open i.e. Kristoff for green, VdB and Kwia for yellow, De Marchi for polka. Don't think any will come in.

It's all gone a bit wrong after my big Trentin/Gallopin win. None of my jersey wins are going to happen (Matthews for green, Frank for mountains). Might start doing some of the match ups.

    Remember my rules.
    1. Never bet on the favourite of the two
    2. Bet on the more inconsequential match-ups. (Paddy Power offer about ten every day)

In the long run you should win.

I suspect Sagan is praying for me to put a little wager on him not winning a stage.

Got one win from Kittel on Stage 1 (4.5/1)

Stuck £3 on Valverde to win the tour 18/1

    I had a pre-Tour accumulator:

Kreuziger to beat Porte (that's been voided)
Mollema to beat Pinot (slightly down on that one)
Van den Broeck to beat Costa (looking good)
Valverde to beat Nibali (rips up virtual betting slip)

Accumulators are for fun, not profit, people.

And with all the drop-outs you may win an extra £5 on Mollema.

Had a fiver on Kristoff yesterday at 20/1 but he waited until today to win at 33/1. Raging.

I'm in on Peraud to beat Bardet @ evens, and Mollema to beat the TJVG @ 11/8.

I'm already wondering why I did the Mollema one.

Didn't I bet you a fiver on Mollema finishing worse than 7th? Or was it someone else I bet against?

If you quote and it comes up, I'll pay. (I once lost a hundred quid bet to a friend as to whether Danny the dealer appears in Withnail and I before they go up north (he does) - so I'll have no problem paying out a fiver if I've said I will).

    I reckon he'll rally though.

Tomorrow: Peraud to beat Ten Dam 11/8 - seriously?
