    Excited!

Now before the stage starts go and have a gander at Maniago the stage start on google maps. Look at the amazing 'torrents' running south out of the mountains. Awesome stuff.

Well here it is. Aru and Uran need to do something very special here, will they go for it? Aru probably happy with his podium, but maybe Uran will try something a little desperate?

The biggest worry with the Zoncolan is that there's a huge potential for an idiot fan to decide the Giro winner....

Thought I'd have a quick look back to see what gaps have occurred on the Zoncolan in the past. Not as big as I expected, although never this late in the race. Plenty big enough to be game changing though...

Today's weather forecast: Rain and cloud all over Italy.....................

Break of 19 looks to be going clear already. Monfort, Rogers, Roche all in it.

    It's many of the usuals:

    Lotto Belisol ‏@Lotto_Belisol 3m
#giro Front group 1/2: @maxmonfort, Arashiro, Belkov, Bongiorno, Bookwalter, Cataldo, Cattaneo, Domont, Geschke, Hondo, Monsalve, Pellizotti, Preidler, Roche, Rodriguez, Rogers, Tjallingii and Zoidl.

If Cataldo is hoping to snatch the mountains jersey II think he needs to top score on every climb today and the one climb tomorrow, with Arredondo getting none. Unlikely! No doubt Zoidl is in there to make sure he takes a few points away from Cataldo just in case.

Giro 2014: Antrim to Zoncolan. Bravo.

I'm in a Brotherhood of Man mood. Let's have Team Oz rocket Cadel up the Mtn while Team Colombia drags Uran back to Team Italy's Aru.

I was hoping it was going to be closer. Its all but over unless Little Q bonks big time. To be honest I have lost a bit of interest. All I can hope for is that someone can blow the race apart early and put little Q under pressure.

Strangely, Rai's schedule has change so that there is no early tv coverage.
Looks like the normal 13-40 ish start, which means there may miss at least some of the first climb.
Odd, given the near whole stage coverage of the past 2 Saturdays.......

Thanks shazz. Loved the 10 and 11 editions and really want to see 07...missed the whole 07 Giro and really need to get round to watching the mountain stages.

In the KOM top ten there are five Colombians - how wonderful.

The break aren't being given much leeway, 4 mins at the moment.

Just about to say the same. Too many strong riders there to let the gap get too wide I guess.

Quintana wants the win. Winning on Zoncolan is probably pretty special.

I wonder how the viewing figures for tennis compare to those for cycling.

Thanks God for that. Listening to all that shrieking and screaming when those ladies strike the ball is unbearable. Woman's tennis can only be watched with the sound off!

Poor form from RAI. Almost at the top of the Pura before we get live pictures.
No the stuff of epic Saturdays.

Riders on the way up the Passo del Pura. 66km to go and the leaders have just over two mins on the peloton.

Chalapud trying to get into the break for Team Columbia.

Cataldo goes over the top first to get max points on the first climb of the day. Unless I'm missing something, Arredondo already has the Maglia Azzurra in the bag.

Very impressed by Cataldo. He hasn't been able to finish a stage off but has rode solidly all week.

Someone's got to go over first. Might as well be him.
