I don't remember the financial crash of 2008 being brought about by Portuguese corruption.

Edit: British companies don't exactly have a great reputation regarding corruption, especially in China right now.

Edit2: Are all these companies just a series of linked shell companies so not distinct companies as most people would recognise them. I don't actually want to know.

Read more and you could learn a lot.
I never once stated that the crash was caused by the corruption in Portugal.

The ability to pay back national debt was the downside of that.
If you are going to argue with me try to do it on a level you understand, its foolish otherwise.

Well, I can say that I can confirm the Italian women are still mightily fine and the coffee is good. Milanese driving is as expected, fine once I got into the spirit of things. Although I think my boss may have been a little surprised at a couple of overtaking manoeuvres.
Shortly off to the bar, then dinner. Mmmmm.

Firstly - why would I look you up on the internet (even if I knew how to)? In the nicest possible way, we are on here as cyclists - I do not give a fig who anyone on here is the "real world". I feel it sad and a tad immoral for people to go looking up people on the internet.

Ref shareholdings, etc - I presume then that all your companies are 100% tax compliant and that the minute you even suspected anything - be it a dodgy expense claim, dividend payment, director's expenses (ie a trip on the Cannonball put down as a directors'/shareholders' meeting), etc you would report it immediately to the Portuguese fiscal authorities and demand that all members of the company were held accountable? Remember, this covers allowing your accountant to have a bit of freedom when doing the books, the company secretary making any late returns, etc etc .......

I believe people should pay what is owed and not a penny more, unless they wish too. I have filed late myself it that's a simple fine and nothing more. I would not claim a motoring event simply because I can't do it. When could, I did.
Likewise I claim what is allowed and not what isn't.
I'm a tiny little fish so me paying or not isn't the issue, the issue is the fact that like it or not, the track record of the Portuguese authorities to clamp down on tax evaders is poor when compared to that of the inland revenue. The losers are the very people who live there.

Dinner was delicious. For my aperitif I just went with a glass of bubbles, skipped the antipasto and went straight for the pasta with a delicious truffle and bacon sauce followed by a lovely bit of steak. Washed it down with a nice local red, sorry but I can't remember what it was. Finished off with a chocolate thing. Skipped the digestivo as I'd had plenty to drink by this point. Quite tiring trying to talk shop, translating between Italian and English and also making small talk with the customer's wife.
Sorry, I can't remember all the proper names for stuff on the menu, but I can tell you for what was not overly complicated food it was delicious.

I have never invested in schemes to avoid the varying rates of taxation so not quite sure what I have admitted too on an open forum that would upset you.

I'm preparing calamari salad and bruschetta for diner tonight. It's gonna rock. I may even let my wife play with me if she's lucky.

And the sun is currently shining, so off for a run then maybe a quick hour on the bike at around 1. Bellissimo,
