Riders getting shattered. I wonder which GC rider loses time.

Ullisi takes it nicely. Close between Evans and Arradondo for second. J Rod faded at the end.

Must've been harder than it looked given the immediate pasting the 'sprinters' took in the last few hundred metres ...

EBH a bit shoot really ... Especially as he needs a new contract ...

edit: I take it back, MM honouring the jersey for a change ...

Is that French for "I didn't recognise the winner, but I could tell Cadel was 2nd"? ;-)

Ulissi is a standout rider. Impressive. Would have liked to see some attacks earlier though.

I said that I thought the sprinters would find it too tough but I didn't think it would be that hard.

I put Ulissi up first, noticed someone said Niemiec so then removed it so I could double check.

You can tell J Rod is just missing that final 2%-3%. Hopefull he gets better with each stage.

Pozzovivo 9th, Quintana 10th in the end.

Cadel disguising his lack of form with a quick pinch of a few bonus seconds?

What was Uran's TT like last year? If he plays it canny his lack of team experience might not be a factor ...

It doesn't look like any GC guys lost any time except Kiserlovski (19 secs)

Nothing particularly impressive. His Romandie TT looked quite good though. He seems to be better on the rolling courses.

When did Cataldo drop a few seconds? He has lost 12 to EBH somewhere (I know it's a stretch to call him a GC contender but he's a team leader and top 10 contender possibly).

There's not really a strong TT rider among the GC contenders is there (other than possibly Evans)? I'd say he's as capable as most and better than some.

Bear in mind the TTs this year are hilly, the second one is just the quickest climb. It wouldn't surprise me if many of the GC contenders do well in this one.

Splits in the bunch on stages 2 (3 secs) & 3 (11 seconds). All GC riders behind the split on both except, ironically, Kiserlovski who gain 11 seconds.

Just caught up with the last 10k.

I was getting somewhat annoyed at not picking JRod for PTP as they went under the flamme rouge until about 500m to go as I couldn't see Evans anywhere, then out of nowhere the grizzled old Aussie bumchin emerges, or at least his hideous fluro-yellow shoes emerged.

Good old Cuddles and his hideous shoes, he's as reliable as a Volvo on days like these.

I was clenching my buttocks while watching that descent I must say.
    Correlation is not causation.
