    So much for French superiority.
    Their coverage was awful.

Hopefully not going to be as much of a procession in the sprints this year as it was last and that there won't be as many sprints too.

Despite a late doomed attempt to get away by Edwig Cammaerts (COF) in the last 2k, Arnaud Demare rocketed out of the chasing peleton in the last 200m to take an easy win.

    1 Arnaud Demare (FDJ)
    2 Jonas Ahlstrand (GIA)
    3 Tom van Asbroeck (TSV)

    Demare remains overall leader.
    GC
    1 Arnaud Demare (FDJ)
    2 Tom van Asbroeck (TSV) @ 16s
    3 Pieter Jacobs (TSV) @ 17s
    4 Yannick Martinez (EUC) @ 21s

Did Chavanel get that? If he did it was close!

Cheers, Demare holds on to the overall.

    1 Sylvain Chavanel (IAM)
    2 Michael Valgren Andersen (TCS)
    3 Samuel Dumolin @ 12s
    ...
    7 Arnaud Demare @ 12s

Demare still leading in the GC but only 2s ahead of Chavanel. Nice to see Chavanel back to winning again.

I thoroughly enjoyed that today. Chavanel and Andersen worked really well together.

Yes. Good stage today. Very entertaining with all that wind and a few lumps.

I loved watching that. Plenty of entertainment and looked like proper racing and both chavanel and Anderson were really classy in the break.

I never understood why he went to IAM, one of my favourite riders, he reeks of panache and loves to attack.

When were checking out the team buses and at a time trial a few years ago (bordaux or La Rochelle?) some clutz knocked my daughter over which chava saw, she got upset (age about 5) and he came across from talking to the press to give her a water bottle and autograph card. Proper nice guy, skinny with a full rack of teeth!

Just saw the final 20. How impressive was that from the double u23-L-B-L winner. Remember the name Michael Valgren.

And what a guy Chava is. First thing after the sprint was to acknowledge the young man on his performance.

    Nice anecdote.
    Those teeth are quite something.

Wow that descent was ridiculously fast - spinning out in their 53x11s.

Cracking stage. Lots of effort. Peloton smashed to pieces. Super sprint. Camera work excellent.
