There is nothing better in the one day races then the real big guns making these cobbles shake.

Think it's the other way round!0 -
Inner Ring's at it again:
If early breaks are often futile, it’s often an effective tactic in this race because even if a rider is reeled in, they serve as a relay for team mates and in crueller terms, equate to a spare pair of wheels up the road.

Who's going to let us know about all the calcyeeelaaashions?
Yeah don't know what's happened to SK as he was in the box for Flanders and was due to do Roubaix as well. Matt Stephens seems highly excited about the prospect of doing it though going by what he was saying during Pais Vasco the other day. Kirby's first Roubaix comms too I think.0 -

Watched the repeat of the 2013 race, made me realise just how poor Kirby is compared to Harmon and while Matt Stephens isn't bad for me he's not as good as Kelly especially for a race like this.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

It's a travesty, given the depth of cycling insight available. He calls it like motorsport; with all the subtlety of a Robbie Savage, and less original thought. Utterly unforgivable insult to the sport....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Weather man says fine, temp in the mid teens.
Hope I can find a decent wifi tomorrow for the race. To paraphrase Withnail, I appear to be in Cornwall by mistake!0 -
Kirby & Kenny Van Vlaminck doing the commentary would be interesting
COBBLESH !!0 -
Is this live on sky sports ala Flanders last week? they had the ott pronunciation guy and Magnus B on commentary"Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0

If, like me, you re a newbie to PR, have a look at what a wet race looks like (spin past the aussie stuff at the start)We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I think my options are stream on my phone in my empty house because I'm still waiting on Telenet to come round and my telly is in the UK, watch in the local bar which is like the island of Dr Moreau, head to Gent for a bar with wifi or hope the guy I'm riding with this morning takes me where he's watching..."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I quite liked watching the Omloop on Sporza because it forced me to think about how the race was developing myself, rather than just listening to what the commentators thought.
I'm seriously thinking about watching a Sporza stream rather than Eurosport (which I'm paying £3 a month for).0 -

The latter is obviously the best idea.
Just head to the town square - it'll be on somewhere there.0 -

As per usual...
I was going to give Carlton the benefit of the doubt before his efforts in yesterdays Basque time trial. Screaming at the television because the commentator can't work out the basic properties of time does tend to spoil my enjoyment somewhat.0 -
One year I will be able to appreciate the classic's season uninterrupted/disturbed. I have totally been off the grid and so have no idea about any of the gossip for today's race but by god am I looking forward to it, even though it looks like its going to be dry. Now I just have to put my faith in my parent's dodgy rural wifi network...Correlation is not causation.0

It's almost here!
Team Sky are ready to roll

Carlton is acceptable until you start actually listening to what he's saying, at which point he becomes unbearable. As mentioned, re-watching last years race makes you realise the sport is poorer without Harmon commentating. But there are others that are infinitely better than Kirby: Hatch, Brotherton, Harris-Bass, Quigley...
Hopefully the Eurosport coverage will be redeemed by LeMond's post race analysis.0 -
Radio commentary on 5 live extra from (I think) Rob Hatch and Dan Lloyd. Could be an option. Starts 1pm.0
