(If you play the guitar and think you need better kit to sound good, it will break your heart ;) )

Nobody thought of the Circle Jerks cover of Garland Jeffreys "Wild in the Streets"?

Doubtful that any are a better version of the originals, but Metallica have a penchant for cover versions too.
Personal favourites for me are The Wait originally by Killing Joke and Crash Course in Brain Surgery by Budgie.

Probably, but I also really like the original. They are both great, but different.

Have we had Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers, listen to the original by Seals and Crofts to appreciate how good the Isley Brothers one is.

Radiohead - Ceremony (Joy Division cover)

  • Kings Of Leon cover Robyn's Dancing On My Own

    Metallica - Brothers in Arms

I don't think it is an improvement

    Patti Smith - Twelve

Just discovered that Girls just Wanna Have Fun by Cindi Lauper is a cover WTF? The original is but this guy and it sounds very The Cars esque.

First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack is also a great cover of a Ewan MacColl song performed by his wife Peggy Seeger.
