Sorry, you're right. I keep thinking that Het was yesterday for some reason.

Anyway, I doubt the peloton didn't do this on certain parts of the route as well but the fact is, they might as well cut that part out of the route if they are allowed to ride on the path. It's pathethic.

    SKY management:
They’re on the bus watching it on TV, and phoning the director: ‘Tell him to take his cape off’. They wanted me to be more aero – to get out there and bloody win it. But there was no way I was taking my bloody cape off. I was hanging on by the skin of my teeth.”
Results over people as per usual.

 We re going to have to put him back on block arent we...

    Wrong race I thnk.

K-B-K isn't it? That's the winning break (and it is not slinging it down)
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Would you have asked your rider to freeze because it will make him more aero?

Every article I see quotes Stannard as being from a different place, one said Chelmsford, another Manchester and this one said Milton Keynes...

He was born in Chelmsford, grew up in Milton Keynes and now lives just outside Manchester. All of which I learnt from reading the Rouleur article.

They just seem to always quote it as one of those different places depending on the article

Rouleur have posted their Stannard interview (Boulting) from a couple of copies ago: http://rouleur.cc/journal/riders/ian-stannard

    Excellent read. Cheers.

“No disrespect to anyone who’s won Flanders, because f*cking hell, everyone wants to win it, don’t they? I’d be fully made up if I could win that thing. But, really, personally, I want to win Roubaix. It just kills your body. There’s a real hard element to it. The whole day is consistently hard. With Flanders the races shuts down and then starts up over and over. But Roubaix never shuts down. I just think it’s a harder race.”

I saw this a lot with Wiggins too - Paddington, Kilburn or Maida Vale - can you do the honours with that RR?

Paddington Recreation ground in Maida Vale had a track at one point. Kilburn's claim strengthens on that basis alone.

Edit: First saw this on a previous thread on here, no doubt 'memories of Wiggins'

    Tricksy - Kilburn/Maida Vale border

    NOT Paddington Bear territory though

Edit 2 - Dibden house would be considered by locals to be in Maida Vale. Young locals of that time would find Kilburn cooler by a mile.

That "How the race was won was quite entertaining, not seen it before.

Blimey they must have held those early this season. Who won?
