I believe the MASSIVE rise was the problem with his fatbar. They're nice bars if you get the right ones.

The cider slurping rockmonkey :P is not quite correct -
Nothing wrong with the renthal bar they are back on the mega it was the 50mm answer pro tapers that had to much rise. Want to try them as they were carbon, suited the colour way of the bike and were already in my inventory. They have now been returned to the cotic soul where they are purrrrrrrrfect.
Managed to finish the gearing just got the forks and shock to setup and that is it 8)
Will post some pics when there is a break in the weather.

I ran these on my cotic soul previously they tick the boxes on stiffness and width. The hubs are smooth and can be converted to practically any axle configuration. As for reliability not had to do anything to them what so ever. Superstar operate a discounted crash rebuild program and offer a free lifetime truing warrenty. I would love to run a set of Enve's but I am not that wealthy.
At £399 I thought it was worth a punt especially after I read the indpendant test results against some of the other leading rims.
I would like to swap them for a set of mavic crossmax enduro WTS purely as think they would awesome with the frame........

What sort of weight do you think they are? I'm always sceptical of advertised weights and prefer real life examples....if you were selling to fund some crossmax I maybe interested.

Looks great. I like the idea of the stiffness of carbon wheels.
It looks like it's ready for some abuse.

They were under the weight not by a lot think it was 6 grams on advertised if I remember right on the pair. I had a set of mavic/superstar xc wheels on my canyon and they were well under so I think they are more truthful than most.
Moving house at the mo so on a spending ban
I guy on here has a set crossmax enduro WTS on his SC Bronson C waiting to see what his verdict is on them.

Thanks I am very pleased with it still toying with going 1x10 and fancy going with the hope narrow wide and t-Rex sprocket.

I'm really enjoying my Mega, its loads of fun to ride hard but light and comfortable enough for all day epic rides.
My Scalp only gets ridden when I feel the need for some proper downhill.

I had a blast on my mega (albeit the 2012 version) yesterday for the first time in ages, forgot how much fun it actually was. The two lads I was riding with had a go on it too, and I had to fight to get it back.

Nice looking bike! The yellow Crossmax's will suit that very nicely, from what I hear they're super stiff as well, folks have had to retune their suspension because they're that stiff! I'm looking to get some for my next bike later in the year

Wanted to try a Mega out at a Leisure Lakes demo day t'other week but just didn't have a chance, shame as they look like a lot of fun to ride. A mate has just picked one up second hand and loves it.

I just did the red route up at pines, had a busy day so only had an hour there! Was a good crack though! Very busy because the weather was lovely and it was riding very fast! Shorts and Tshirt too! Summers on its way!

Well up for a ride out though mate yeah!

Its a reverb 355/100mm i would like a touch more of drop to be honest. Been super reliable not had to bleed it once.

First run out today and say I am impressed how it rides. The front brake needs bleeding and a little pad squeal but other than that had a great time . Think I am going to stay 2x10 for the time being as found myself using a fair bit of the range today. The forks are quite plush but need so more break in time before I can give an opinion but so far I like them.

Managed to put a quick run in today on the local trails and i am really enjoying the bike.took a moment to snap these while answering a call from work....





Still need to get some fluid and bleed the front brake but i have managed to get the pads to stop squealing their heads off.

Might head to pines next week for the first time this year 8) if the weather is ok.....

Never answer calls from work while riding. You can't hear your phone ring while riding. That excuse has worked for me for years.

Looks like a very nice job there OP. I'm hovering over the CRC Buy Button and wondered what size yours is and what the full build weight is?

i went for a large (i am 5-11) which fits just right. My cotic soul is a medium but after comparing dims and talking to a few people, i would have been sending a medium back Mega TR to CRC no doubt about it.

RockmonkeySC on here has a TR in XL not sure how bigger Ape he is than me but give give him a shout. If you are anywhere near notts we could meet up if you want to try mine for size.

As for weight i have measured it yet but i will and post it with the overdue build spec.

Im a 6'1" ape with long, luxurious legs. I wouldn't be able to get enough saddle height on the large frame even with a 400mm post.
