    Who's up for this then, second weekend in April?

    whats the plan? i've lost track!

    This;

    Saturday - Snowdon, should take approx 3hr's up and down, so it leaves time (if your legs are up for it) for another go at it as there are 2 clear options for the route down. Rangers/telegraph or Llanberis path.
    Or, again if legs are up for it, Penmachno is just over half an hour's drive and is an absolute cracker of a ride. It's pretty much a figure of 8 loop, you can do half of it or the full loop. Say 11m vs 22m roughly. It's then 10 mins drive to Betws y Coed.

    If the weather beats us for Snowdon, we have options of Penmachno or Coed y Brenin, plenty of choice.

    Sunday - Antur Stiniog :)

    Just a heads up, first round of the UK Gravity Enduro series is on at Coed Y Brenin that weekend, so places may be pretty busy!

    Ta. This then means that the weather will be fine for Snowdon and we won't need an alternative !

    Did it a couple of years ago, real steady pace, probably walked more than we rode and it took pretty much 2hrs up. It actually took about the same to get down, seeing as I had a weird tubeless failure right at the top, which resulted in lots of faffing. Then had 2 pinch flats on the way down, (after putting a tube in the rear) due to my none existent bunny hopping skills over all the sh1tty water bars on the rangers path :)
    But of course that won't happen this time!

    Right, it's starting to take shape now.
    Accomodation is being reserved for Glen Aber Hotel in Betws y Coed for Saturday April 12th http://hotelsinsnowdonia.com/.

    £24 per night, bunkhouse inc breakfast or £18 room only
    Twin room in the hotel, £40 per person (assuming 2 sharing) inc breakfast.

    I don't mind making the reservation, as long as you send me a £10 none refundable deposit to secure a bed, or of course you can sort it yourself.

    Stiniog, again, I don't mind making the booking, none refundable £27.50 for the uplift, or as before, you can sort yourself out.

    So, if your in, stick your name down and if you need my details to send me any money, PM me.

    So far we have;

    Roger Taylor
    Mark Prout
    Neil Howett
    Mark Ward
    Simon Whitham
    Charles Prinold
    Paul Stalburg
    Jon Lawton

    Well count me in but I'll sort out my bookings as I'll probably take an extra couple of days and squeeze in more riding like last time. (unless there's going to be some epic group discount anyway?)

    Who's staying in the Vagabond then :mrgreen:

    Oh yeah, that means there's space for one and one bike coming down from Edinburgh and stopping probably at Llandegla on the way down... Though, you'll have to be happy to travel in the week some time, maybe wednesday then drive back up on sunday or monday.

  • Reminder is in my diary. I should find out this weekend if I'm a goer with this. I'll be bringing 2 bikes probably, the Cube for Saturday and the Blender for Sunday. I've missed Antur!
    It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

    I'm damn sure it said Coed Y Brenin a few weeks ago! Maybe I'm imagining things! I'm gonna have to give it a miss I'm afraid, too many commitments with uni work, moving home for easter and family events :(

    You're not wrong, they changed it- Steve posted something about the CYB pits being too small for the sponsors so not suitable for the big launch, Ae's got a big field they use for races.

    Don't give him an excuse - I'd put it down to farking students blowing all of their loan on crack & Diamond White and then not knowing their arse from their elbow.

    Get a job!! :wink:
