Lol - I updated this morning but obviously not quick enough. On 32 now.Faster than a tent.......0
-
Sorry, am out - scuppered by school holidays, night shifts and family weddings. First month I've not done one since December 2009... Roll on January0
-
I was very nearly out.
Got run over at the end of July.
Went through the pain barrier to get one in in August (28th).
Because I managed that one, I pushed myself to do another yesterday.
There aren't even any bloody prizes!0 -
Just a quick update on my June post.
Thanks for all the good wishes - after 11 weeks I managed to get out for the first time - 10 whole miles and some strange nerve like shooting pains down my left leg - but you know what, I couldn't stop grinning, just being out on the bike. Last weekend I got a couple of 16 mile rides in and felt much better so hopefully the process of recovering fitness has started. Missing a huge chunk of the summer has been a right pain but the sheer joy of being out on the bike is brilliant now - at 51 I'm like a kid on Christmas day.
Good luck to everyone still in and well done W12 lad for fighting the pain!
As Polly says -roll on January!!0 -

Thanks Mike and Charlie - you too and good luck for the rest of the year.

Sorry for the delay in updating (second month in a row i think  ) +4 for August thats me at 25 now0
-
Another late update, sorry! Was in Italy hoping to get a couple of rides in, but my buddy went awol on me.
My last ride was 100.0 km dead. Would not have been happy if I had switched the Garmin off 100m earlier!0 -
Now that I'm home (from Ironman Wisconsin, whoop!) I've updated the August totals with everyones corrections, except DaveP1, whose update can't be seen (again, very odd!)...0
-
Durrin, I had 6 points in August thanks to a good holiday in Majorca so should be on 33 points, not 32.0
-
Just added today's ride to make 16, can anyone see it on p4?0

Very sorry Durrin, it's my turn for a late update.
I was convinced that I had already done it.
Don't worry though, I'll just prop up the bottom of the table with 12 points.
Looks quite tight for the latern rouge position...0 -
It`s an impressive late dash for Bikergirl !!! 12 points in September---good going0
-
Thanks Lands end to john o groats in 9 days does help. Makes up for all the 60 mile and 120 mile rides I've done this year, just missing a full metric. October will be tight as I'm without bike for three weekends so a little worried as literally have one day to make the month's ride! Edit: phew! I have three days -- that was worrying!0

Durrin - I bagged 3 centuries in September, not 2 per your leaderboard. Can you update this please? Thanks.0

22 still in, 0 out since July. Either this (MCC) is amazingly motivating, or global warming is making it easier to ride in the fall/winter... or something else.

Dunno but this is crazy competition -- last year I had about 34 rides & that would have been top five or higher. Im in awe of the rides here, especially with several having done some 1000+ km randonees.0

there are crazier ones ---eg Rapha Festive 500 (not entering), some Audax awards eg RRTY (a 200km each month of year minimum), SR-AAA (200, 300, 400, 600 all hilly ie 1500m / 100km minm)...got that one !!
As looking at PBP 2015 this metric century competition will take a back seat for me in preference longer rides0 -
durrin wrote:@JamesB: the MCC points roll in even faster when you're preparing for the long brevets/audaxes. Doing triathlons, OTOH, is detrimental to MCC point accumulation.
yes agree what I was saying is that I`ll not be riding say 102km rather than 97km to get an MCC single point !!
Planned PBP qualifiers + extras will get me c30 points at least0 -
Thanks for the update Durrin.
Please can you update my total for November as I did get 4 rides in.0 -
Hmmmm sr-aaa looks cool. I hate long rides but may Man up and join audax uk to do the bryan chapman (since will be oversubscribed by you pbp qualifiers one has to be audax member).
Oh I didn't mean the challenge was crazy but you guys racking up near 100 rides -- crazy hard competition that even with over 50 I'm just in the top 10 and basically same rank as last two years when I did about 30 rides (this year I did a lot of rides just under 200 km, which is frustrating too as still one point!)0 -

entries are already going in for BCM !! see the website http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/15-195/
just join AUK --it`s about £15--I started up Audax a couple years ago (used to ride them in late 1980s /90) and have really enjoyed them all. You could give The Eleynnd a go too @ 300km, before launching into a ride as long as BCM, with issues such as overnight riding / sleep
Take a look at yacf site for thoughts / guidance https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=17.0
Hope see you on BCM good luck0 -
I might have fallen (literally) at the last hurdle, as I managed a spectacular face plant on Tuesday, and whilst the cut above my eye which initially caused me concern was superficial, albeit scary when I saw blood running down my glasses, I then realised my right arm was sore.
A trip to hospital as a precaution I thought has revealed it's broken in 2 places. Currently in plaster with a trip to the fracture clinic lined up for next Tuesday. Hopefully will be Ok to ride before the end of the month because I'll be gutted otherwise.0 -
I don't really want to be riding in December as my sporting goals have changed during the year, but having got this far, I will bag a century this month to complete the set come Hell or high water (or pleasant sunshine and light winds if Saturday's forecast is to be believed.) And I might as well then get another two to beat my previous record of 34 for the year.
I will not ride my bike in January so I will take myself out of contention for 2015 at the first hurdle!0
