I think you could build up quite a good client list here, I'm sure it's not against the rules, it's not like you're promoting a wheel building service for example
No, I'm officially a nerd...I have a mains conditioner to ensure that I get constant current and my mains isn't affected by noisy things on the ring like my fridge. Oh and some special mains cables that cost a fair amount.
Not quite as bad as this though

Beats headphones are designed such that:
Crank the bass up
Crank the trebble up
Lower the mids
Not particularly good, not bad either, but way overpriced, they are the Bose of the headphone world, look fashionable, are good quality, but nowhere near the best.
If you want studio quality headphones, Beyerdynamic are hard to beat; I use them daily for professional audio development;

and

but you wouldn't really wear them out and about.
My own personal pair of headphones is these and I won't ever change away from them; used them for years; they are the best all rounder, comfortable and a fairly small design:

Get these to outclass the yoofs!
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

Agree on all of this, Beyerdynamic and Audio-Technica are some of the best around and the Sennheiser HD25 is very highly regarded too.
For fashionable, great sounding then AIAIAI headphones are some that I've been extremely impressed with. Getting some of these myself as it happens, the TMA-1 Young Guru (as the earpads are a tad more comfortable than the standard TMA-1).0 -
Beyerdynamic DTX101iE will do the job very nicely.
Many earbuds are already bass heavy, so when you get a really bassy tune it tends to distort. These are award winners 3 years on the trot.0 -
Lovely, cheers. Will treat meself after Christmas.0

So you sell them by the bucket load then?0 -

They won't deal with me as I don't have anywhere near enough volume going through yet for them to be bothered. Only launched 2 months ago but now have over 300 headphones in stock!0 -

Listening to Spotify on the tube last night on my earphones, when I got home I unplugged them from my phone but I could still hear the music. Checked the phone and it wasn't coming out of that.
Weird. Took my coat off.
But I could still hear the music.
Then realised that I had a little bluetooth speaker in my pocket which had inadvertently been switched on.
The other tube passengers must have been treated to a selection of my tunes all the way back, looking back I was getting some strange looks on there.
What a chump.0 -
S'funny how different stuff from the same manufacturer can sound;I usually use some old folding compact Sennheisers which sound nice and neutral but tried some in-ear ones that were really screechy sounding;this was with my olde worlde 3rd gen ipod which is still working ok after all these years.
Must admit those aiaiai in-ears look nice(stupid name though)and I wonder what the Motorhead ones are like,my hearing gas never been the same after seeing them at Cambridge Corn Exchange around 1978 :shock:Ridley Helium SL (Dura-Ace/Wheelsmith Aero-dimpled 45 wheels)
Light Blue Robinson(105 +lots of Hope)
Planet X XLS 1X10(105/XTR/Miche/TRP Spyre SLC brakes
Graham Weigh 105/Ultegra0 -
Yeah I can imagine. The main benefit of the Motorheadphones ones is that they go louder, probably to compensate for all the years of listening to stuff too loud.0

My Grados aren't anyway. Great sound, especially for sharing.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
I've got the DT880's and a homemade valve amp, does this make me a headphone geek .
Aren't the 770's a closed back version?0 -
Back to the OP, I bought these the other month or so, I love my headphones, often plugged n blocking out the world. I use them frequently, so need them to be quite robust. These ones cost a packet but they're worth it - v v good sound quality, total noise cancellation, bass & treble clear as a bell, no distortion at high volume, classical is as good as house on them, lovely quality of materials. You also get free downloads off the Society of Sound, v high quality recordings but massive file size. retail at £150 but seen them at £120 online.

My lovely son has now lost my earphones so just had to replace my sennheiser cx 400s with the same. They are amazing.
And so is my bose soundlink mini, changing the subject slightly0
