They do know what they are missing. I have watched some of the choir and what gets me is the choice of songs that they choose. I think there should be some better intervention in their initial choice. A lot of pop songs do not lend themselves to choral pieces. I guess, the producers want to appeal to a wider audience but then it gets lost in translation.
There is nothing quite like a choral work in full swing, especially live. I wish they had stuck to traditional choral pieces.
My grandmother was an opera singer and later in life conducted the Birmingham Civic choir.
I had the privilege of hearing the Vienna Senior Choir when I was in Aachen some time ago, staying at a youth hostel. One of their coaches had broken down and the owner of the youth hostel kindly put them up for the night. We were treated to some singing in the courtyard the following day. It was spell binding, even to a green 17 year old.
So I have given up on the Choir for now. I will probably watch the finals. I am fed up of the continuous pandering to the lowest common denominator in or society. Although my jaw dropped watching Corrie on Sunday during the cafe scene, the background music was Django Reinhardt.

    Enjoy these:
    stunning harmony
    Rythym and harmony, big sound

and bless her my old grandma Mabel, she like this and the Beatles because of the harmonies!!

Flicked her switch despite writing most 'pop' off

My Mum's a Choir singer. She had a top ten hit with the 1998 BBC World Cup theme tune :D

None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

That's a great piece. Proper singing, wacko Jacko did not write choral works.

@daviesee. Well, he was a big chap. Maybe too big for the engine to pull.

I been living mainly in Pro Race. However, a couple of big kids have come in recently and have taken over all of the swings and slides so I thought I'd come and have a few posts.

I have been lurking and will always try and be there for BB if it kicks off with the Volturi

Wheeest! (or however you sweaties say it) I think an invasion of Pro Race would result in a casualty rate that would make 'Nam look like a walk in the park. I love you guys too much for that (cue beach volleyball bromance scene from Top Gun)
