Dear Chris Froome, You have got to start be worry. If I were you I would go extra hour riding tomorrow :-) #TinkoffSaxo is coming big time

He says that twitter is just for mucking about and having fun. Can't say that I approve of him or his views, but would rather have someone that is outspoken than a bland, boring owner/figurehead. Vaughters >Brailsford for example (entertainment rather than results of course!)

Great fun from Oleg. Don't criticize him though or you get called a whore.

Assuming he's not a moron and he actually believes some of the stuff he Tweets, he's going to be very good value for a while. The self-righteous will whine about his racist misogyny on one side of their face. The other will still be beaming in appreciation at his latest Froomerism.

It's another social media case study, much like Vaughters's' recent MBA paper on damage limitation.

Edit:
Oleg Tinkov @olegtinkov
My tweet on ASO wasn't as popular as on suspicious Froome performance. It tell me how you'r shallow. This is much bigger statement though #TdF

Oleg is saying "If you dont perform this season I will squash you with this thumb. Then buy Chris Froome, he is a decent rider".

Keeping up Bertie's record of only working with and for extremely dodgy people.

If he's going to try 'humorous' tweets in English he is probably best off learning to speak the language properly first rather than sounding like a Russian gangster in a low budget movie.

No, Bertie is a true champion and a certified heavyweight and would starve before riding for Sky.

So the name changes to Tinkoff Saxo but someone had that username, possibly preemptively. See here:

He responded well to Tinkov's offer of a signed jersey:

"Tinkoff Saxo News
@TinkoffSaxo
@olegtinkov haha Oleg, you can do it better. I have maillot but I dont have bike...I appreciate it. Happy new year!"

"It all depends if riders are under contract but if I had three wishes or something, to make my dream team, I'd sign: Peter Sagan, Fabian Cancellara, Mark Cavendish and Chris Froome."

Isn't that four Oleg?

In some ways it's like a mirror-image version of the issues between the BBC and BSkyB where the solely-for-profit commercial organisation is complaining that the government funded corporation has an unfair advantage in a free market economy.
In this case, according to Tinkov, ASO has an unfair grip on the neck of cycling's Golden Goose (and needs to spread the spoils if we're to avoid teams either going to the wall - or not getting off the ground to start with)… and there needs to be more intervention from non-commercial sources ?

As Ben Elton nearly used to say, "ooh a little bit of socialism, there"…

I'll be happy to see Cantador do well this summer, but a little bit of me wants him to fail just cos I find his bosses such unpleasnt people. The rich 'lad' image is not one i warm to.

^ Oleg is a complete tw@t

The only thing he has that's bigger than his bank balance is his ego. He tries to come across all "I'm one of the guys" but to most human beings it comes across as what it really is, just a lot of self-publicising. Yeah, he may jet around the globe supporting his team but he makes sure the media knows all about it. I'd like to know what the team really think about him but we'll never know. After all, how many people are likely to say in a public forum "My boss is an arse" ?

However if that's the price we have to pay for having people sponsor teams I suppose it's a price worth paying

I have to say, if I had more money than I could eat and threw lots of it at a cycling team, I'd probably behave in a similar way

That was Bertie realizing that his preparation would involve a lot more science than over the last couple of years.
