As there was an implication that the university could have been negligent:
Did you ask your daughter if there were goggles/warnings provided by the university?0 -
Sorry im with Mr Goo, hazadous chemicals ? students should be made to wear protective eye wear.
Banging on about common sense etc etc ? whoses common sense? yours or mine? a student with a severe hang over or maybe one with a disability?
Its the unis responsibility to ensure the safety of their staff and students.0 -

Or, do you just use common sense?None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

Whoses (sic) bike? Yours or mine?0 -
If she's been doing this for 4 years and she's at university now, I imagine that she started while at school or in her first year at university. In which case whoever was teaching her should have told the students to wear goggles. Did the teacher do this and set an example?0

Some assumptions being made here.
Could this possibly be the same John Finch who posted:-Let's hear the full facts before jumping in to criticise.
He'll be blaming her nursery teacher soon at this rate.0 -

Never went to university myself. But if safety rules have to be written to take into account impairment due to drink, there is something badly amiss at our seats of learning, don't you think?0 -

Er, what assumptions are being made here? I've asked a question and made it quite clear that I IMAGINE she started it at school or the first year at university.
PS - I know, I'm taking your comment far too seriously.0 -

Yes, far too seriously. But
im•ag•ine (ɪˈmædʒ ɪn)
v. -ined, -in•ing. v.t.
1. to form a mental image of (something not actually present to the senses).
2. to believe; fancy: He imagined the house was haunted.
3. to assume; suppose: I imagine they'll be here soon.
4. to conjecture; guess: I cannot imagine what you mean.
I imagined that you were assuming, but I assume that was a figment of my imagination.
In which case, I stand corrected.0 -
Nothing wrong with assuming as long as you make clear that an assumption is an assumption. (You can tell I'm a science student)0
