I've spent enough time there to know that the only thing Birmingham is, is a monumental s**thole, lol.0 -

Nobody who's ever had the misfortune to visit Birmingham would attempt to argue that it isn't a monumental s**thole. No sane person, anyway.0 -

Satnavs should have a large, LED backlit, "For The Love Of Christ, Don't Ever Take Me to Birmingham" button.0

I'd rather Birmingham than say Bradford or Dewsbury. At least Birmingham is gonna have a massive Christmas celebration with German Market. I can't wait. Doing Leeds as well.
Totally off topic sorry. Nice bike lol.0 -
Birmingham is just Bradford XL. At least Bradford's smaller, so takes less time to get out of, lol. Both should be carpet bombed then bulldozed flat, as should Dewsbury.0

The camera's light metering system - it measures the light and adjusts the exposure to suit (via shutter speed and aperure if it's in full auto mode). Modern matrix metering systems are excellent, but can still be confused by some conditions (high contrast or snow, for example). I would assume that the metering systems in camera phones are very basic. Even a cheap compact camera far out-performs the best phone cameras, partly because the sensor size in camera phones is so small (ignore megapixel counts - they're marketing bulls**t, and on a small sensor a high megapixel count is actually a bad thing, as it increases noise).0 -

It's a long time since I was looking to buy a new camera, so I'm not up on current model ranges, but £120 will get you a good compact. Depends what you want to use it for really. The best camera is the one you have with you - you can't get a picture if your (or my) DSLR's sat at home 'cos you can't be bothered hefting it around, or don't want to risk breaking a £600 lens if you fall off your bike. But if you're actually going out to take pictures, you can't beat the control of an SLR.0 -

Went out for a really nice ride today, was just doing my normal XC route when i discovered that the Adventure Center in my village had allowed walkers/bikers on it again after being shut for a few years, having never been down there on my bike i was very pleasantly surprised to discover some amazing single track, it was a very short loop but having done it about 20 times now it still hasn't got boring , finished a good days riding with a nice night ride around the back of Newport 8) I didnt use my granny or my big ring today though, so I'm still considering going 1x9... :? Hmmmm decisions.......Framebuilder

I am thinking about doing the same with my Bizango. I don't think I have left middle ring since picking my Voodoo up six weeks ago.0 -

Not much new on this, Santa left a bike computer and a mini pump under my tree, as well as £250 to spend on some bike stuff, the first of which will probably be some pedals and a bash-guard. I decided to stick with the granny gear as my discovery of some new trails locally brought with it some new hills to conquer, oh and an iPhone 4s so more dodgy iPhone pics as well .Framebuilder

Can't go wrong with a HOPE bash guard. I've got a load of high end parts in excellent condition you might be interested in if you're looking to upgrade.0

Took her down to Cannock Chase for a little spin today, soaking wet of course but very good fun. Was all going well until disaster struck and a tussle between my bike and a rock left me with a f*cked up rear derailleur... Took the chain off and rolled the last mile and a bit. Was an interesting lesson in maintaining speed without pedaling though, and i didn't actually have to push it too much. Brought my mate out as well so think he's caught the mtbing bug a little bit! Looking at some new bits including a saddle, pedals and maybe a bashguard.Framebuilder
