It's OK, I'm sure Stokes will have South African heritage somewhere in his family tree0 -
Thought I'd better bump this lest we be accused of only singing when we are winning. Looks like Cooks mind wasn't at it when he reached the crease after nearly two days in the field. Let's hope KP is in the mood to stick around and play his part...0

Sometimes we need to learn to keep our mouths shut!0

Is this Ashes thread a follow on to the RIP thread ?Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.
Faith is the denial of observation so that Belief can be preserved0 -
What rubbish. I woke at around 5am and flicked the radio on hoping to hear a couple of our top order at the crease on decent scores and I was greeted with the words ' ...here's Swann coming up to bowl to Warner..' Argh. Radio off and back to sleep!0
-
Utterly pathetic. At least India are playing South Africa at the same time so can some watch decent cricket ...0
-
Bell seems to have had no problems with the bowling, Carberry even got a few runs and yet the rest continue to make Mitchell Johnson look like the second coming of Marshall. Surely one of the most dramatic drops in form in any sport over a 12 month period??0
-
The same Mitchell Johnson who was spraying the ball over the place and was quite frankly a laughing stock. Can't see any other result than 5 - 0 unless they learn how to bat. Monty lasted an hour... What did kp think he was doing...0

not been so many cracks seen since big merv used to go down in front of bay 13 and all the big brown eyes stared lovingly at their hero, if only dear tony was still with us, he'd have a field day with his car keys.
For me Rutch, a Garage is just a place to pork your cor...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

dear ol tone, how we miss him! rip tone, legend.0 -
One thing I'm still not able to work out is why Onions has been over-looked, especially as he's had proven experience unlike Stokes and Rankin. I can't help but feeling the English management have over-thought things here whereas Australia have just picked the best 11 available and concentrated on making them a team more than anything else, Lehmann is certainlly looking like a damn good coach at the moment.0
-
Who knows? One thing I've admired with the test selectors in recent years is their ability to stick with players who have a few bad tests whereas in the 90s they would drop people after one attempt. However, we now have 7 or 8 players out of form and few experienced players to replace them. It all looked so promising half way through today's play but there weren't the options to keep the momentum going. If the Aussies can do this to us (and they are at best still a mediocre side) I dread to think what the Saffas would do!0

Must say, seen some ashes drubbings, but the first two tests in this series have been some of the most gutless I have seen, even worse than 89 or 06/07. It's not even a good side they're losing to.
Umpires need to work DRS better, Root didn't look out. If that had been Aussie, channel 9 would've had a big sook and pulled hotspot and the 3rd umpire out of the tests...
And the cupboard is rather bare too, bring back the Kolpaks!! But really, think the standards of county cricket have dropped since the Kolpak ruling has been tightened in the past few years.
Anyway, stumbled upon this, thought it apt considering the Ashes so far and the hiding we're going to get in the test series in South Africa

Also, channel 9's commentary is the worst in world cricket. I'd take Sivaramakrishnan over them any day, that's how bad they are.0 -
At least they competed today... What did pieterson think he was doing?0

Some people were predicting a whitewash so it was on the cards all along.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
I don't like their cricket team... anyway, it wasn't meant to be serious.
whitewash predictions prior to the series? I mean, even Malcolm Conn wouldn't have. After the first or second tests, yeah, but I don't think any prior to it.0 -

wasn't Beefy among them whitewash predictors though?0 -
One or two of the England team may now be considering new careers as sky commentators or perhaps getting on strictly...0

Can we start the football World cup predictions now?
I predict Scotland won't lose a game.
We've been on a consistent run for quite some time.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

How many witnessed Morgan being battered today?I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0
